At this point it was the highlight of our trip and our luck went successively downhill. After waking early, we headed over to the office only to find a different and unfriendly host tell us that "nothing is available and you have to book 6 months in advance". We decided to hang around for another hour or so to check out the beach which was nice.

Monday, May 26, 2014. We managed to live in Woodland Hills for just over 1 year and with my wife accepting a new position from Santa Monica to Pasadena we did not want to have an even further commute so it was time to find a new home. One of the many benefits of living in Pasadena is the vast array of nearby camping options for us to explore. That being said, here is the first of many new experiences. The bright sunshine woke us up early enabling us to enjoy several hours of surprisingly fast VW racing.

Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Today's post is a happy and breakthrough one for many reasons. First and foremost.I survived a 5000' elevation with no negative higher altitude issues which is great news for potential future camping. The second reason is we were able to test our new 100Watt portable solar panel and third was the immense amount of wildlife and beautiful views we witnessed! Monday, March 24, 2014. Meet in the Middle. With my wife's maternity leave ending shortly we decided to attend as many VW related events before our time was up. We managed to drive to Irwindale to attend the "Hot VW's drag day" which turned out to be quite a large event with some awesome rides and incredibly fast cars. I heard that the temps would hit record highs so we tried to prepare but couldn't leave Brooke in the sun for too long unprotected:. Refugio park offered us some great scenery as well:.
