Profound Thoughts: May 2007
http://shashispeaks.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 11, 2007. People have often let me know in no ambiguous terms that my jokes are very bad (or poor). I have just one thing to say to them. I agree. It is a good exercise to think what you consider as the best joke, in a sense that if someone asks you to tell a joke which one are you going to pick? So, basically, the point I am making is a small dot. Humor has lot of fundaes. Whenever you hear a joke try to classify it. Whatever. On a closing note, this blog was just to warn you guys out there ...

My 2 cents: Everything was "Inti" for a week !
http://upstairsthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/09/everything-was-inti-for-week.html
Monday, September 01, 2008. Everything was "Inti" for a week! Sorry, can't make it" was what I heard from everyone last year for the trip to Peru. And so when a friend at work mentioned about it this year, I said 'Yes' immediately. So it was set - 5 of us from the Bay area and 16 more from the East Coast were all set to enter into Inca territory. Met some Quecha tribes and saw them at work making clothes out of Alpaca wool. The finish is something today's machines can never get close to. Next day at Cuzc...

My 2 cents: August 2006
http://upstairsthoughts.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 29, 2006. Strangers touch your life. There are lots of time when strangers touch your life or do something you never expect, knowing fully well that they won't get anything in return. I am sure all of us have experienced this. So as a tribute to one such person, I narrate an experience that I will never forget! Well he did not gain anything from it. Such simple actions move you as a person! I will definetly not forget him for the rest of my life. Posted by Jaikumar Ganesh @ 11:11 PM.

Saturday, May 10, 2008. Pretty good, Pretty Pretty Pretty Pretty Good! Well the title* is an understatement. The two events that I attended in the last 2 weeks have been brilliant. Pangea Day 2008 was a gem. You can find more details at http:/ www.pangeaday.org/ with all the movies played and the underlying messages. It was a resounding success. Let me just recount the theme:. The title is taken from the sitcom "Curb your Enthusiasm". Posted by Jaikumar Ganesh @ 11:45 PM. Matte ella soukhya ve? Mountain ...

My 2 cents: November 2006
http://upstairsthoughts.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 23, 2006. Ice Skating, eh? 7:45 pm: I am about to go home, thinking of packing for my trip and I get a call from my friend, asking if I wanted to go ice skating. Having never done it before, I jumped at the idea and was at his place in 10 mins. 8:15 pm: Four of us at the Ice skating rink. Having never done it before we were clueless and excited. "So what kind of shoes do you want - Ice hockey or the skating shoes? 8:32 pm: We ventured into the rink. And boy oh boy! And yes, did you not...

My 2 cents: The God 'Don'
http://upstairsthoughts.blogspot.com/2008/01/god-don.html
Wednesday, January 02, 2008. Its been ages since I blogged and few people asked as to why I had stopped blogging. "No specific reason" I guess. Its been an exciting year with lots of things happening and I am back blogging after a long time. Comet hunter Don Machholz is considered a God in the field of comet hunting with many discoveries to his credit. An interesting article that I found on astronomy.com says it all:. How I found a Comet. Posted by Jaikumar Ganesh @ 12:04 PM. View my complete profile.

I have a predilection for the word "celerity", but I also know I will not win any popularity votes by using that word, hence I will not use it again here :). Right from childhood, most of us have this fascination for speed. Fast trains, fast cars and later on, maybe fast girls! My point after all this is only that even as we continue to be enthralled by speed let us recognize that it i...
