Consistency, anyone? | Adequate Notice
https://adequatenotice.wordpress.com/2010/09/29/consistency-anyone
September 29, 2010 (Wednesday) · 10:47 PM. I don’t usually write about political topics, but a recurring theme has lately been… well, recurring, and I’m curious what others think. I’m wondering why seemingly no one making political arguments is able to do so with any logical. It’s a meta-issue, really. I don’t really care whether you’re for the war or against it, pro-life or pro-choice, or whether your tea goes with “tax” or with “party.”. I’d just like you to have a little. Is it really too much to ask?
About | Adequate Notice

If you’ve made it this far, it’s likely that you already know me from school, work, or somewhere else along the road. On the other hand, I’ve always liked writing, and frequently wonder if anyone else is thinking what I’m thinking (or has thought what I thought). My guess is that they are (or have). In fact, in many cases, I anticipate that what I write will strike a chord not because it’s so original, but because you (yes,. I can promise, however, that this has nothing to do with Julia Child. You are co...

Specifically, we were debating the implications of paying someone to do cleaning you don’t wish to do yourself, particularly in the bathroom. The job we settled on as the point of reference for our discussion was cleaning the toilet. Well, I don’t know about that. I came back with a n...Yes, th...

Return to me →. May 28, 2010 (Friday) · 12:01 AM. That’s brusCHetta… with a K. The titular primo piatto (Photo credit: cooks-catering.com). It’s been said that we live in an age of hyper-correctness. Because we spend so much time making sure to be correct in this political realm, our inflated sense of correctness bleeds into other areas, as well. For instance, I now hear a number of grammatical mistakes that result from people trying too hard to get it right. Here are a few:. Interestingly, however, whil...

The Adequate Parent
50 Book Challenge 2013. Just another Tuesday morning, this morning. By that, I mean yet another Southern Railway strike. So the alarm went off at 6.30am and I asked Shaun to check what state the trains were in. Amazingly, they were running fine. So that was good – after all, it’s meant to get worse (but now I’ve realised that’s next week when there are no services from here). She was part-dressed for school and already I was running late. She came running into the room tearfully. She’ll probably en...
Adequate Parenting
APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding. Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing. Memory and desire, stirring. Dull roots with spring rain. Remember when we were pretentious enough to quote TS Eliot and mean it? If you don’t, ride the Red Line a while, and catch the college students on their way to internships, interviews, and lunch. Or find a restaurant that serves $3 margaritas at happy hour. They are generous with their insights, loud, happy to be heard, boldly, annoyingly, cluelessly. I’m getting to it.
