Saturday, January 12, 2013. Went running/hiking today. The temps started around 20. By the time we finished, it was down to 18. The wind was brisk and we stayed in the trees for the most part. We did about 4 miles or so, saw 4 other runners - all going much faster than I. There were a few slippery places and we both wore Yax Trax so we didn't have any falls. Sunday, September 26, 2010. The Last Weekend in September. What a great weekend. Went to the Carpenter Nature Center's Raptor Release on Saturday. The skies threatened rain but changed to partly cloudy and warm sunshine. What a great opportunity to see these amazing animals up close and learn more about them as a species. Sunday, August 29, 2010. Ran with Loren for over 2 hours on Saturday at Afton. Also did an hour or so on Sunday. It is an "or so" because I took the binoculars to watch birds and be bitten by mosquitoes. Here is a photo of a flower blooming along the snowshoe trail. Friday, April 30, 2010. Carpenter Nature Center (CNC). The rain held off and we were able to do some bird banding today. This is a cardinal that had been first banded in 2008. At that time, it was thought to be about a year old. That means that it is now about 4 years old. Someone asked Jim about the oldest bird. He said that they once had a Cardinal that was 9 years old! Larry went to Afton last week and found the American Woodcocks. He could hear them and saw one silhouetted against the setting sun.

Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Sean and Michael's Fault. So Sean and Mike Nac are learning some good ol' Irish tunes in the hopes of playing the pour house next St. Patricks Day. They started with some lovely songs about the IRA. Lucky for Afton she gets to hear Sean practice. Friday, March 15, 2013. Sean has been doing push ups and sit ups at home and Afton has been acting as personal trainer counting out reps and yelling "more" and "faster". Today she decided to do a few reps herself. Måndag 6 april 2015. Jag brinner för väldigt lite. Jag brinner för mina barn, det är nog det enda. Men mest av allt brinner jag på ett helt annat sätt. Jag brinner av skam. Jag skäms över så mycket. Jag skäms mest av allt över att jag mått dåligt väldigt länge. Sedan jag var ungefär fjorton år. Jag ville ingenting och orkade inte som andra. Jag hoppade av gymnasiet innan jag ens hunnit halvvägs. Sedan dess har jag inte gjort någonting vettigt alls. Något som andra gjorde mot mig. För detta har jag skämts.
