Remember that BOTH the batting helmet and the attached facemask must display the NOCSAE approved mark. Two pitches are thrown, one ball and one strike. Time is called and it is brought to the umpires attention that the wrong batter is at bat. What is the ruling if:. The intent of the original post was as a reminder that even though the ball may be with the pitcher in the circle, the runner is still allowed one stop if she is off of the base.
