An attempt to make you all jealous of our Alaskan adventure. 30 October 2010 - Went to the church for trunk-or-treating and a chili-chowder cook off (in honor of the late Wilbur Greenhalgh no doubt). Winter conditions do not slow down Alaskans as the parking lot was a sheet of ice, temperatures were below freezing, yet all activities were still held outside. It was entertaining to watch the ghosts, superheroes, fairy princesses, and accompanying parents continually biff it on the ice. Kj and the boys.

Matanuska Glacier - Alaska. 22 Sep 2010 - Our final "get out and stretch your legs" stop before Anchorage was the Matanuska Glacier, which according to the always trustworthy Wikipedia is the largest glacier in the United States that is accessible by car. While we were a little surprised to learn there is an entrance fee to a glacier, it was still fun to go climb on it. GPS coordinates - N61 46.716 W147 45.894. The whole fam on the glacier.

An attempt to make you all jealous of our Alaskan adventure. 19 February 2011 - A company that runs dog kennels out of Willow, Alaska was on base to offer dog sled rides, so we bundled everyone up and went dog sledding! The dog teams were made up of Alaskan Huskies, including a handful of them who ran in past Iditarod races (which starts March 5th)! Kjaristy took Austin and Gunnar out first, and then Brett and Loch made up the second team. What a great experience! Talk of your cold!
