Living the Dream

Metro Volkswagen Cycling team. Thursday, October 8, 2009. For the most part my recovery consisted of lots of time in the coffee shop and a few easy spins. On one day, Ashley, Gonzo, Kyle and I rode up the tt course to a huge waterfall that was part of the local state park. It was a pretty cool view and well worth the 3 miles of gravel road to get to. With the crit being the final event of the week, I was whooped! I had done more races in the past 2 weeks than the entire month prior! The race was pretty f...

Living the Dream: February 2009

http://andrewdahlheim.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Metro Volkswagen Cycling team. Monday, February 23, 2009. My last post, I have been fairly busy! I got my new sweet BH. Built The G4 is by far the best bike I have ever ridden! I got a Retul. Bike fit courtesy of Gary Woolfolk. At Richardson Bike Mart. It is a bit expensive and a little time consuming, but if you are having any fit issues, I highly recommend it! Pulled up to us and said the finish would be neutral because of a wreck in the Cat 3 finish. oh well. The crit. They look pretty sweet! Alright&...

Living the Dream: July 2008

http://andrewdahlheim.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html

Metro Volkswagen Cycling team. Monday, July 28, 2008. Unexpected trip back to Dallas. Is officially over, however i have now been back in Dallas since Wednesday. I only raced 11 days before returning home. While racing in Bensenville. I crashed with 4 to go and broke my bike. I was ok. Not even a bit of road rash, but I managed to get a 3-4 inch crack in the center of the top tube of my bike. Awesome. SRAM. I did manage to salvage a 7 th. Place finish in Ripon. Nationals is next on the agenda. Has been v...

Living the Dream: Back on the road.

http://andrewdahlheim.blogspot.com/2009/06/back-on-road.html

Metro Volkswagen Cycling team. Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Back on the road. So last week I began my summer long voyage cross country. My first stop is in good ole' Greenville. SC Where I am presently. I love the riding here, and the weather is hard to beat. Especially compared to the heat and humidity of home. After a couple of weeks of training in the mountains, it will be off to Boston for the Fitchburg. So my confidence is increasing as well. Before I left Dallas, I scored some Sugoi. I am a pretty big f...

Living the Dream: Time is flying by...

http://andrewdahlheim.blogspot.com/2009/06/time-is-flying-by.html

Metro Volkswagen Cycling team. Tuesday, June 9, 2009. Time is flying by. So the last time I posted on this thing, I was back in Mississippi and I had just read about Tyler Hamilton getting popped again. Sad day, whatever whatever. Fast forward. Where have I been and what have I been doing since? Well, racing mostly. The team went out and did the crit. Series in SC, followed by Joe Martin, or, as my brothers down south call it, Jose Martine. We also did the Matrix Challenge, Memorial weekend crits. And th...

K to the J: Bike Stuffs

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2010/11/bike-stuffs.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Tuesday, November 9, 2010. Yester-two days ago was the Cameron Park race. It happens to be one of my favorites and since I was feeling pretty good at the end of the collegiate season, I figured I would give it a go. I hadn't raced with the pros since, what, March? The scoring got messed up so I never got to see actual time gaps, which is a little disappointing - it would be nice to know if I really was that close to the leaders or not. May 29, 2013 at 4:16 PM. Congatulat...

K to the J: UT Weekend 2011

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2011/02/ut-weekend-2011.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Monday, February 28, 2011. My priorities after the race:. 1) Get some people to look over my bike and make sure nothing was broken (nothing was). 2)Take pictures of the blood and guts* (not too spectacular, but still.). 3)Get the medic to clean up said blood and guts. Sunday was crit time. I was a little worried about my hand, but I bothered the medic for something to use as padding in my glove, and she had some sticky rubber stuff that was absolutely perfect.

K to the J: March 2010

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Friday, March 5, 2010. Following my Usual Habits. I have a test in 25 minutes, so I once again declare it blog time. Two all-nighters and two most-of-the-night-ers. The A M "road" race is this weekend. I kind of want to do it, but at the same time I've heard too many stories of people breaking carbon frames on the course (and I could really use the extra day in studio), so I'm skipping out on Saturday and just driving up for the crit on Sunday. Should be good.

K to the J: Stupid Weather

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2011/02/stupid-weather.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Wednesday, February 9, 2011. I was half expecting the class to only be about half full today because the temperature dropped into the 20s again today (read: about 40 degrees colder than Texas has any business being) and there was "ice" last night. But no, the class is about as full as it normally is. I know I wouldn't be here except for the fact that I would have to actually study for tests if I did that. What day does [uninteresting club] meet? I do kinda wish I had a s...

K to the J: Dirty Du

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2011/02/dirty-du.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Monday, February 7, 2011. Another psychology class, another blog post. I see this making me actually keep up with this thing this semester. The only question, then, is what to write about. I guess I could do a quick recap of the Dirty Du(athlon) from way back in November. My dad talked me into racing against him in it, and seeing it as a rematch for the triathlon we did over the summer. Did I ever write about that? I said "why not" and had my mom sign me up. My second ru...

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2011/03/bike-racing-and-tacos.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Tuesday, March 8, 2011. Bike Racing and Tacos. Normally this post would be all about the A M race weekend that just happened, but nothing too exciting went down, so it will be about other things. Well okay, a little about the race first:. Saturday was the traditional Tunis Rubaix, only this time on a much tamed down course. I don't feel like finding pictures if the actual courses, so here are some Google Image representations:. We know about a third of the menu from othe...

http://k-to-the-j.blogspot.com/2011/04/call-it-heinz.html

K to the J. That's What's Up, Yo. Thursday, April 7, 2011. So I stopped going to Psychology class, thus eliminating my quality blogging time. My test grades have seemed to follow an interesting trend of going up the less I go to class though, so I think I'm going to stick with this plan of attack for the last couple weeks of the semester. Spring break: road trip to Missouri to see Rachel! And do fun things! I look like a fish! People on road bikes! Rachel comes to visit: We did fun things! Which was amaz...

Yeah - It's all good. If anything in this graphic causes confusion, ignore the entire product. Monday, August 31, 2009. Hmmm, it's been a month since I've posted anything. I'd like to say that I've been so busy that I haven't had time, but that wouldn't be true. Now, I have been busy. but busy with the mundane ins and outs of daily life. You know - exciting things like work, laundry, riding my bike, and sleeping - which pretty much sums up my day. Guess that leaves cycling. Surprised, aren't you? We've a...

Yeah - It's all good. If anything in this graphic causes confusion, ignore the entire product. Tuesday, December 22, 2009. Thursday, December 3, 2009. It's December already. What happened to November? Quick update - still nothing really happening. The next and last race was in Smithville (home of Hope Floats. My race was pretty lackluster, but I wasn't last (YEA! Next up was the Mellow Johnny's Classic race at Lance's Juan Pelota ranch (yes, that. Now for something completely different:. While going for ...
