저희 성가복지병원은 성가소비녀회가 본래의 설립 목적인 가난하고, 소외된 이들을 위한 병원으로 운영하고자, 지역 주민들을 방문하며 조사한 결과, 우리 이웃들 가운데 병에 걸렸어도 가난하여 치료조차 받지 못하고 아무도 돌보는 이 없이 외로이 죽음을 맞이하는 형제들이 많다는 사실을 알게 되었습니다. 이에 이러한 분들이 의료적 혜택을 받을 수 있는 무료병원이 꼭 필요하다는 것에 뜻을 모았습니다. 1990년 5월 30일 유료병원을 폐쇄하고 사회복지법인 성가소비녀회 성가복지병원으로 전환하여, 1990년 7월부터 가난과 질병으로 고통당하는 무의무탁한 이들을 치료하고 간호하여 한 가족을 이루며 그들 안에서 하느님 사랑을 전하는 것을 목적으로 정부 보조금 없이 후원자님들의 후원금과 봉사자님들의 도움으로 운영되고 있는 무료병원(외래진료,입원). 1998년 4월 부터 쉼터 식당을 이용하여 경제적 위기로 인한 실직자, 노숙인들을 위해 무료 급식으로 이 분들에게 작은 위로의 손길을 펴고 있습니다.
