You could also call them family councils, but when we first started doing them we weren’t thinking about them in any kind of formal way. Rather, we were responding to a need. Monday, April 27, 2015. This morning Lucas walked into my room holding a picture. Ever since we got an easel for the kids they have been drawing and writing like crazy. Today, Lucas handed me this picture with lots of color and his name. I had no idea he knew all of the letters in order of his name; apparently he does. He is also wearing his Captain America shirt over his church clothes so he could be matching Daddy. He wears his pants backwards, and all around just a silly loveable kid. He will tell us Joey drives a certain car we see, or works at a certain building we are visiting. He tells us Joey eats certain foods. Basically, we hear "Joey" a lot during a day. Sunday, July 26, 2015. Olivia had a first today. Erik and I also had a first. Today, Olivia gave her very first talk, a speech of sorts, in Primary at church today. I learned OJ eagerly volunteered to give the talk last week; tho it totally doesn't surprise us that she was so quick to raise her hand to do it. Today, Olivia did awesome. Baby Reid Turns 2. Okay so "Baby Reid" really isn't much of a baby anymore (ignore the pacifier in his hand). He is turning into such a silly little guy. He is still emotionally charged and has to take "breaks" in his room during fits just to calm down,. But he really has all of us wrapped around his little finger.especially his daddy. Reid's birthday fell on a Monday, which happens to be Ace's busiest day this semester, by far. So on Sunday we celebrated Reid! Reid's actual birthday was pretty uneventful.

I remember being worried about Reid before he was even born. I worried that he would get overlooked, neglected. How could the second child get as much of my love and attention as the first child? How could anything he did feel new and exciting? I felt kind of sad for this little boy who would come into a family with a pretty awesome toddler and big baby shoes to fill. The little things I want to remember about Garret. Garret is getting so big so fast! I really just can't believe it. Garret's first soccer practice. Garret had his first soccer practice this week! Hard to believe he's already in cleats and shin guards. Bayfield has a great spring league that's open to 3-year-olds - though they don't really play games; it's more rotating around to different stations where they do things like dribble, shoot, and toss balls into the air using a big parachute.
