As an adult I can see myself being critical and judgmental more often than appreciative. I swore I would never become that. - how many times have I felt the same, lost count. REAL BAD. Gud1 ri :). Thursday, January 8, 2009. The four races described are interesting in terms of their mortality/immortality. The elves, dwarfs, hobbits and us. The shorter the life span the more the population. There are very few dwarfs and even fewer elves. So since we have such a short life span, are we trying to live life in "complete"? In terms of which rapidly reproducing, depleting resources and exploiting the environment? Links to this post. Wednesday, January 7, 2009. An ode to PLB524. Links to this post. July 1...

Tales of a small town dreamer. Wednesday, November 17, 2010. And in Paradise I am. For the first time I have a guest post on my blog. Inaugurating affairs is my good old friend the " Bourbon Legend. He is many things - engineer , entertainer and Thalapakattu Briyani lover. But most of all a constant reminder that life is not meant to be taken seriously! Class was going to be a bitch today. 8221; comes a harsh grating voice. I turn slowly, doomed. 8220;Yes Mr V? I find the hateful door and open it. Th...

Tales of a small town dreamer. Tuesday, January 1, 2013. I may be giving my blog the step motherly treatment but I couldn't stay away from doing my traditional year end post. Mid year saw me take a new job. New roles new environment and new people. And the whole rigamarole of adjustment. As with many things moving to a new job made me appreciate little things I left behind. I missed my crazy colleagues who made Monday mornings bearable. Which I never appreciated when I was on the job. I am no more lonely...

BigBlueStem: To my city
http://greenearsandredhorns.blogspot.com/2013/02/to-my-city.html
Friday, February 15, 2013. The city that patronizes gooey butter cake – butteriest of cakes and provel the worst cheese ever. St Louis is the city where you can find the best draft beer in a couple of minutes but it will take you weeks to make your water drinkable. It’s the city where every next guy you meet will swear on venison and will actually convince you that greens are bad for your health. It’s the city where everything that is not dunked in lard cream cheese or butter is non existential. The only...

Carpe Diem: Indonesia - Part 2: Ubud
http://raspberry-rhapsody.blogspot.com/2013/06/indonesia-part-2-ubud.html
Tales of a small town dreamer. Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Indonesia - Part 2: Ubud. Ubud is a little town filled with tiny cafes, curio shops and busy markets. D and me spent many hours exercising our non existent bargaining skills in the many markets. These visits ensured we were returning to India with much heavier bags. Our room was massive and overlooked this little courtyard which led into rice fields. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Ubud. Tue Nov 19, 09:41:00 PM GMT 5:30.

Tales of a small town dreamer. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Reason number 324 why I am grateful for my small town existence. I have lived in a small town for two thirds of my life. I confess, my town has just one traffic signal which was inaugurated with much pomp. And yes when I first came to Madras as a child I thought the Anna fly over was like the coolest thing ever. This has often been a source of amusement for my city bred friends. (yes yes you know who you are). This is disrespectful" . The brid...

Tales of a small town dreamer. Monday, May 31, 2010. 500 days of summer. Colombo is underwater. We are sitting on the verandah of my grandparents house and watching the pool of water which until a few days ago was our lawn. My sister is cursing the rains which has deprived her of a visit to the mall. My aunt is cursing some cousin who has apparently betrayed her trust. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Carpe Diem: A Mid Summer Wedding
http://raspberry-rhapsody.blogspot.com/2012/09/a-mid-summer-wedding.html
Tales of a small town dreamer. Sunday, September 2, 2012. A Mid Summer Wedding. When my cousin did a last minute announcement about his wedding in Colombo, I was partially panicky and excited. Panicky coz I realized I would hardly get a day between my Boston and Colombo trip resulting in my displaying my hyperactive best. My friends and family can vouch that my hyperactive self is best avoided. But I was also excited as this would be the first Buddhist wedding I would attend. Oh wow, I hadnt realised it ...
