Solitude Rising: Across The Pond
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/2013/12/across-pond.html
Saturday, December 14, 2013. A young Red Jade begins to climb up a tree into a cable wire. Those living in the U.S. or the British isles might think this post talks about the other side of the Atlantic ocean. But not really. It is literally what's across the pond, or shall I say, what's crossing the pond. Cable wires suspended above the pond for the Red Jade vine to climb on. It may take a couple of years before my father's vision of a row of Red Jade flowers hanging above the pond comes to fruition....

Solitude Rising: July 2009
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2009. The animals are roaming. As it is today, the farm is an animal farm. Here is a video of how it looks today with all the animals that are currently on it. Please bear with the quality of the video as this was taken without the initial intent of publishing. Hopefully the pigs won't feel left behind. There was no video of them to begin with. At least they're on the same boat with the hens. Thanks to my brother who took the video clips. Easy on the coffee, the videos are a bit shaky.

Solitude Rising: The Garden
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/p/garden.html
March 19, 2010. As of now the garden is still a dream. But it's a dream that is slowly taking shape. It was born out of a personal life-changing series of events that made me pause and re-evaluate life in general. I realized I should be pursuing my passion, something that will inspire me to have a purpose to go on. If I keep my dream a mere concept locked in my mind then I would rather just dream and never wake up. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). A diary of my a little bit ambitious project. Wicking pots sys...

Solitude Rising: Screwed
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/2013/12/screwed.html
Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Back in the fourth quarter of 2009 when we began the process of "greening" the farm, Mom bought some seedlings she thought were agave plants. But when I saw the picture (see below), I thought they were not agaves but maybe were related to the pineapple family. As much as I can, I try to identify and record the names of the plants we collect and plant in the farm. Since I could not identify the common and botanical name of these plants I couldn't add it to my list. Screw pines a...

Solitude Rising: She's a shrimp
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/2011/01/shes-shrimp.html
Thursday, January 20, 2011. Almost two years ago, while looking for my way out of a huge mall in the Philippines, I heard a group of young men describe someone as a "hipon" (local word for "shrimp"). Their eyes were fixated on a young lady who was standing a few meters away. Poor girl, if only she knew that at that very moment she was being complimented and insulted at the same time. I guess having a gorgeous body and a not-so pleasing-to-look-at face is both a blessing and a curse. We have several of th...

Solitude Rising: September 2009
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 29, 2009. When it rains, it pours. It may be a few more days before I could get a copy of the pictures from the farm. My brother has just returned to Manila and he's got more pressing stuff to do than sit down in front of the computer to e-mail me the pictures. Its been several days of sunshine now, but there's something brewing in the horizon. two of them. Posted by Solitude Rising. Links to this post. Thursday, September 24, 2009. Soylent Green is people! Solitude Rising: August 2009
http://solituderising.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 31, 2009. Icing on the cake. Bring out the cake and party hats! I could not believe that its been a month now since I started a chronicle (in short, blog) of our 'little grand' project. And hopefully (knowing myself), I will be able to sustain this blogging project until the very end, when our 'little grand' project is finally a working, breathing entity. That's it. Told you there's not much to update you with. But. My quest to find garden design ideas prompted me to visit one of the garde...
