Just another WordPress.com site. To market, to market. March 27, 2011. I came home with quite a haul. I think I was so focused on helping those two wisely spend their money, that I forgot to do the same with mine. Here’s what I got (and all local! Or leave a trackback: Trackback URL. Just another WordPress.com site. Laquo; What I ate today. April 14, 2011. The final day of my Lent experiment came and went without much fanfare here on ye olde blog, sorry about that. Some people have asked me why I am not doing this for the full 46 days of Lent. (Lent. Actually 46 days… did you know you’re supposed to get a reprieve on Sundays? I go to the Big Easy this week every year – spend some time doing some post-Katrina rebuilding (And yes, help. While I’m there, but this year Easter bumpe...

Obsessions on the Way to the Big Four Oh. May 19, 2011. On my way to work this morning I drove, as I almost always do, through one of the nicer neighborhoods in my area. Thursday is trash day for this part of town, and standard-issue flip-lid bins and bright orange recycling totes lined the streets. I also got to singing “Picking Trash” to the tune of Patty Griffin’s “Making Pies” in my head as I made my way to work. Hence the title of this entry.). I’m guessing some of the pickers resell their tre...

Obsessions on the Way to the Big Four Oh. After two years of highly enjoyable blogging with my oldest and dearest pal, I find I’m unwilling to give up the daily opportunity to write something anything that engages my brain and allows me to express whatever nuttiness might lie therein. I kinda want to keep another blog, I kept thinking. But I have no idea what I want to blog about. Or maybe it’ll be all silliness all the time. I hope not. We’ll see. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Gack. | Fumbling Toward Forty

Obsessions on the Way to the Big Four Oh. June 17, 2011. Lookit how I haven’t been doing a DANG THING on this blog! That was not the idea. I wanted to post nearly as often on this page as I did on the old one with my dear MK. Yet so far? Part of the problem is that I (clearly) have not really figured out what this blog is going to be. That means my thoughts haven’t yet organized themselves around it — I’m not always thinking about what I’ll post, like I was with the music blog. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Just another WordPress.com site. That Voice →. Unconditional love and quarters. May 6, 2014. Oh how very, very, very wrong I was. Instead, I learned the true meaning of unconditional love from my students. In order to be a good teacher, you need to be a student of human nature. And you need to have a powerful love of, if not fascination with, youth. If not, why spend 6 hours a day trapped in a small room with lots of them? View all posts by Adrienne Gilby →.
