The Spears Family Blog: The Quote Wall.
http://sonnetcentral.blogspot.com/2014/09/quoted.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. I really like to read. I really love words. And I am very inspired by a well-turned phrase. I also have very strong beliefs about what I think is important in life and what I want my kids to know. And I have this big wall that needed some décor. But since it is located in the main thoroughfare of the house and across from the "playroom," I didn't want to put anything too fragile or foofy on it. (Yes, foofy is a word in my world). I chose quotes from my favorite writers, speak...

http://sonnetcentral.blogspot.com/2014/10/the-brick-wall.html
Tuesday, October 21, 2014. After we worked on our house for a. Month, I swore I would wait a long, long time before I painted anything again. (I hate painting! Hate it.) But then I got this bright idea to do an accent wall in my family room. Dun dun dun. I love brick. Love it! So, I figured it would be an awesome spot for a faux exposed brick wall. Like. Hey, check this out, we ripped the drywall off and look what we found! This amazing 100 year old brick just waiting to be reclaimed! I wanted the grout ...

I'm sure you've all been waiting for just such a thing with bated breath. I do happen to know that at least one person is interested, so I got off my behind and took some pictures today (not that I take. Pictures, but you get the idea). (If you missed the downstairs tour, click here. It used to look like this before:. Now it looks like this:. This is what it looks like now:.

Monday, July 6, 2015. We took a family vacation to Newport Beach last week. We drove straight to the water, set up our shade and chairs, and just played, lounged, and ate junk food for three days. :) It was lovely! Sonnet took up boogie boarding and had a blast (she now says she wants to be a surfer and an artist when she grows up, so it's safe to say she will be homeless and broke, but happy- haha! http://sonnetcentral.blogspot.com/2015/08/ccc.html
Tuesday, August 4, 2015. I'm told that today is "national chocolate chip day." I don't know if there's even such a thing, but I'm all for the idea, so I'm assuming it's true. :) In honor of this special occasion, I shall share a couple of my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipes! The cookies are big, fat, chocolaty things and they taste super yum! Even someone like me only needs 2 or 3 of them to feel really satisfied. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Spears Family Blog: December 2014
http://sonnetcentral.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 31, 2014. I try to read somewhere around 50 books a year. This year I read 46, plus the 18 chapter books I read with Sonnet (hey, every bit counts- haha). I listed my reads below and commented when I felt like it. :). A wee bit corny, but really clean and cute. The Girl You Left Behind. A wee bit corny for me, but I suppose I always say that about Regency period stuff. Most women I know who have read this really liked it. I think there are a couple more in the series too. True story&#...

The Spears Family Blog: House Tour (downstairs).
http://sonnetcentral.blogspot.com/2014/09/house-tour-downstairs.html
Wednesday, September 3, 2014. We bought a house! Read some about that. Then we worked (and worked and worked) on the house! Read some about that here. Then we finally got a good night's sleep. Now I can get back to things that really matter like blogging and eating ice cream. :). Anyone who’s been in ear shot of me over the last year knows that house hunting was not a fun process for us, but we finally landed on a place that we really liked! Short sales are not short! You put on a coffee table? Working o...
