Just another WordPress.com site. May 22, 2012. Jalapeno Ranch Dip: A Sublime Accident. Posted by flouronthefloor under Dips and Spreads. I had not, however, set out to replicate Chuy’s dip today. As I looked over the recipe, I realized that it was basically Hidden Valley ranch mixed with a Guacamole Taquero. 1% is f...

Baking in the Rain
Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Another reason I don't make cheesecakes more often is the need for a bain marie, and the fact that my first ever cheesecake cracked despite following all the instructions closely has discouraged me from trying again. Yields approx. 15-18 mini cakes. 1 cup graham cracker crumbs. 2 For the crust: mix the me...

Baking is a Piece of Cake
Baking is a Piece of Cake. Week 8: strawberry pound cake. Bull;March 16, 2011 • 3 Comments. I promise, I don’t work for Williams-Sonoma. I re-visited the pound cake recipe for a friend at work, but adapted the recipe to make it strawberry pound cake instead of mango. A couple of things were different about this version: I subbed 1 cup of chopped fresh strawberries, macerated in 1 tbsp powdered sugar and 2 tbsp heavy whipping cream, for the mango. Week 7: glazed mango pound cake. 3 cups all-purpose flour.
