She’s eating a shelled hazel on the balcony rail. The leaves in the background are on the pruned Hazel tree. It was cut back so much that it wasn’t able to bear nuts. Maybe next year. Watching the red lad this morning, I had to think about western movies. You know the ones where the bad guy hides behind a tree or rock and tries to shoot the good guy in the back when he rides by.
