The phrase snow day typically brings to mind a blizzard. with white out conditions, hazardous driving, doorway high drifts blocking your comings and goings. Yesterday really wasn't all that. If snow were rain, then one might say that it drizzled all day. It was so cold, that instead of huge, puffy flakes, there were these tiny little things that just sort of rained down all day.

Tuesday, January 20, 2015. 8oz dried pasilla chiles. 1-2 TBS seeds from the softened pasillas. 1 tsp ground coriander. 1/2 tsp three peppercorn blend. 1/2 tsp anise seed. 1 tsp Mexican oregano. 3 TBS slivered almonds. 1/4 c pumpkin seeds. 1/4 c sesame seeds. 3 TBS olive oil. 1 medium white onion, chopped. 5 cloves garlic, peeled and quartered. 2 chipotle chiles in ancho sauce.
