When checking in at Taipei, the flight attendants told us we would have to pick up our luggage at the San Fransisco airport; they could not be checked through because the 12 hour layover was “too long” to hold our baggage. An American Viking's Journey to the Far East. March 6, 2011. Jet lag is a bitch. Last time here I never really experienced it, but this time it is doing a number on me. I’ve been sleeping just fine, but a persistent headache has stuck with me since arrival. I am disoriented, shaky, and just feel rough all over.
