Thursday, March 31, 2011. Rhona Martin did the honours in throwing the official 'opening stone', with local young curlers Fiona Telfer and Naomi Whyte in attendance. And here we all were, with the question, "How much help would Rhona's stone need to get to the tee? Actually, very little. Pretty much right on the poppy, Rhona, well done, although the perfectionists would say that Ruaraidh Whyte must have given her a couple of inches too much ice! Photos © Skip Cottage. Monday, January 23, 2012. Ireland won just one more trophy when they beat Wales, also by one shot (25-24) in a match where, by comparison, all the games were close and two of the games ended up peels, both achieved by the same Irish skip. It was seven years since Scotland last beat Ireland but they came out fighting this year and after two games (men and women) it was 19-8 in their favour. Unlike England, Scotland managed to hold on to their lead and actually extend it by two shots to win by 30-17. This ...

Tuesday, January 31, 2012. The Tulloch Haggis weekend at Greenacres this past weekend attracted an entry of 24 teams, local teams, teams from Ireland, Wales and a very interesting 'English' team, John Brown and three Canadians (now English of course). In two sections every team faced three eight end games to qualify, or not, for the High, Mid and Low roads. The teams enjoyed dinner on Saturday night and of course on Sunday a supper of haggis, neeps and tatties.". Photos courtesy of Hugh Stewart. Jennifer...
