Colleen M. Bratley: Red River by Kelly Van Hull, A Book Review
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2014/03/red-river-by-kelly-van-hull-book-review.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Sunday, March 23, 2014. Red River by Kelly Van Hull, A Book Review. This second book doesn't miss a beat continuing the journey with a creative and structured plot of exciting wonder. The characters, story and writing I so enjoyed in the first book certainly didn't disappoint in the second. The very first chapter brought you back into the fold of family and the whole different life they were forced to create. Everyone needs a hero, but few can be one. I just can't give to...

Colleen M. Bratley: Tam Lin by Heather Osborne, A Book Review
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2014/04/tam-lin-by-heather-osborne-book-review.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Tam Lin by Heather Osborne, A Book Review. A short little tale that brought back memories of stories written long ago. This story has been told many times in many ways, so you'd think it would be tiring to hear it again. But if the author is adept, she will take you on a journey like you've never been there before. Heather does quite well with that, and the story does keep you thinking about the next scene. Overall it is an interesting short tale.

Colleen M. Bratley: September 2013
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Sunday, September 29, 2013. 8221; I just couldn’t make any sense of it and it made me angry. I think you can imagine and many of you know what can happen when Mama Bear gets angry and protective of her cubs. To see my books: bhbooks.co. Saturday, September 28, 2013. The Siren's Tale by Anne Carlisle, A Book Review. A woman's way can be blatant, subtle or anything in between. In this book a siren and her lineage are that and more. That has always posed a challenge for me.

Colleen M. Bratley: May 2013
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Friday, May 31, 2013. Aberrant by Ruth Silver, A Book Review. Innocence and hope abound in this story. You find yourself rooting for the characters as they flounder through a reality they had never conceived of. It is interesting, entertaining, and touching. Olivia is a young woman thrust into an adult role without any preparation. At least not prepared for anything beyond what she was supposed to understand and live as reality. Joshua is Olivia's mate. With each breath a...

Colleen M. Bratley: February 2014
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Sunday, February 23, 2014. Bishop Street by Rene D. Schultz, A Book Review. This story is an experience you won't soon forget. It's a story about four children who grew up in an orphanage unwanted, unloved, and clinging to each other for hope. Four children had an entrenched hope they would be adopted and daily prayer they would even survive their mostly ugly and unhappy journey. Each one's test was different in execution, but ultimately culminated to the same tune. It's ...

Colleen M. Bratley: October 2013
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Thursday, October 31, 2013. Sacred Promises by Jennifer Hines and Mindy Bigham, A Book Review. A story combining fantasy, love and mystery with a wand of magic. It really is magic that weaves the characters together into a nice storyline. You want to see what happens, and actually aren't sure at times which character to root for. Ah, the love of youth. I don't think the delight, the depth, or the need of love change at any age. You just like her. The two guys (men) or wha...

Colleen M. Bratley: Kindreds: An Alliance of Bloods By Tani Mura, A Book Review
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2014/03/kindreds-alliance-of-bloods-by-tani.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Monday, March 31, 2014. Kindreds: An Alliance of Bloods By Tani Mura, A Book Review. I love it when the story goes to scenes that you don't see coming, and ones that may even get you a little upset. One such scene in this book did get me a little upset. But, I have to believe there is a reason for what happened and hopefully the second book will massage my feelings. Tani Mura gives us a taste of not just one different world, but two via completely dissimilar cultures.

Colleen M. Bratley: Chaysing Memories Book 2 by Jalpa Williby, A Book Review
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2014/04/chaysing-memories-book-2-by-jalpa.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Chaysing Memories Book 2 by Jalpa Williby, A Book Review. Book two of the romance novel that grabs your heart, wins another five stars. The continuing saga is nothing shy of thoroughly entertaining. The characters have developed some, especially Tess with her maturity. Her graceful step up and Chayse's virility connect so strongly that they seep into your psyche and mesh for quite some time. I know what I want. Yeah, I know. But, he was just my ...

http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Saturday, March 30, 2013. The Keeper's Curse by Diana Harrison, A Book Review. A fantasy that proves anything can happen, especially when you least expect it. It's a story that's entertaining and surprising which you'll certainly enjoy. Emmy was a typical normal teenager finding her way in life; at least she thought so. So when things happened to her that wouldn't happen to others, she really couldn't grasp what was going on, nor did she care to. Sometimes I felt she shou...

Colleen M. Bratley: June 2013
http://colleenmbratley.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
My Children's/Young Adult Books. Tuesday, June 11, 2013. This Morning I Woke Up Dead by Mindy Larson, A Book Review. This story is the epitome of what if. I found myself asking that question throughout the book as I tried to picture what happened, and how it would end. There are two main characters in this story, and they each talk in the first person as it goes from one to the other. I can't, and maybe you won't either, help but feel their distraught emotions and love for each other. What if our knowled...
