The Indian Oils Trail in Kananaskis is most often done as an out and back. Nice enough, but why not mix it up a bit? Confessions of a Train Geek: Elie's Station

http://blog.traingeek.ca/2010/08/elies-station.html

Confessions of a Train Geek. The world's longest running railway blog. Monday, August 02, 2010. I was in Elie, Manitoba a while ago and saw this structure. This HAS to have been a railway station. The style just screams "station" to me, from the freight door on the left to the slight bumped out center section to the lack of ground level windows on the ends, and the roof line. A cursory Google search showed nothing but I'm convinced this was a train station. Anyone have any proof? 2 August 2010 at 19:42.

Confessions of a Train Geek: A Morning in Portage la Prairie

http://blog.traingeek.ca/2015/05/a-morning-in-portage-la-prairie.html

Confessions of a Train Geek. The world's longest running railway blog. Tuesday, May 12, 2015. A Morning in Portage la Prairie. I am normally a "lone wolf" railfan. I find my time to railfan when I can so it's difficult for me to arrange to meet up with anyone else to see trains, plus when I'm alone I get to decide where to go! So when Thomas Sajnovic. Messaged me to ask if I was available, I hesitated for a moment and decided "what the heck! The usual collection of old Geeps were by the shops. BNSF 1685 ...

In the morning of May 3. We had just decided to head back to Winnipeg via the Trans-Canada Highway, and therefore have a CN railfan opportunity. We headed east, and I had to stop in Oakville to check out the grain elevator. again. Onward. we ducked into Elie so I could show him the station-turned-house. Sadly they were destined to...

Confessions of a Train Geek. The world's longest running railway blog. Friday, February 20, 2015. Cleaning the Switch Points. After my little trip to Grafton. North Dakota, I returned to Grand Forks and spent an hour looking around. My first stop was North Washington Street and the industrial locomotives at Gavilon Grain. I photographed these back in April 2011. And I won't repeat the photos here - the Con Agra GP7 and the Peavey SW7 are both still there and look the same. BNSF 2256 at North Dakota Mills.

Confessions of a Train Geek. The world's longest running railway blog. Tuesday, May 05, 2015. 10 Questions for John Longhurst. Railroad magazine used to have a regular feature highlighting an "Interesting Railfan". I thought I would run a similar series with some railfans who have agreed to participate. I'm asking each railfan 10 questions, some standard and some customized for the particular person. I hope you enjoy it. ( See all in the series. 1 Tell us a little bit about yourself. Confessions of a Train Geek. The world's longest running railway blog. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. First Impressions of Lightroom 6's Face Recognition.
