Sometimes all you need is an excuse to get away for the weekend and this one came to me while looking through some photos of the places I've been in Queensland. Setting out from Brisbane in a bit of a heatwave I headed Southwest where after crossing Cunninghams Gap I passed some Bushfires just to the South. Sunday, December 26, 2010. Rainy days in Mudgeeraba. The rain has been constant for the last few days with 101mm overnight an indication of what we were getting . I was getting pretty bored and the dog was moping around as well. After having a look at BOM i could see the constant rain was going to split and go round either side of Mudgeeraba for a short while so i took the opportunity to releive the cabin fever by taking the dog for a quick walk. This looked like a good way to go . The creek was well up .

Thursday, December 29, 2011. Xmas Road Trip 2011 part three. It was time to head for home but i thought i might go via Wonnongatta Station in the high country because i had not been there before and had heard it was a hard drive in. On a side note . after yesterdays effort and last nights sleep i'm in a world of hurt . Can hardly move but its just aching, no intense pain. Takes five minutes to get out of the Ute . LOL. Sure are big buggers. And thats one of the small ones . Sure goes out a long way .

Friday, January 6, 2012. I had passed the dam during construction and had a quick look while passing one day and thought it could make for some interesting photos at sunset/sunrise. I noticed that there was free camping, clean toilets and a couple of nice flat grassy campsites with the best one [refered to by the ranger as the penthouse suite] being up close to the road at the end of the small camping area.
