Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». I took a well deserved afternoon off yesterday and chilled out with C, who was also free. She picked me up from work and we took a minibus ride up to the peak. It was on a part whim, to do something that we haven’t done together before. Our initial plan was to enjoy the ride up, admire the lavishness (known as mansions on the peak), and wolf down burger king. We got through the first two parts of the plan and stalled on the third. Sauce I am pretty su...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». One saturday afternoon we made our way to Olive in Soho because we were craving something middle eastern. The last time I was here was some 2.5 years ago when I brought mom to dinner when she came to visit. It wasn’t a pleasant experience and I crossed it out of my list. This time it was much better. I rememberd being turned off by aloof service the last time, but this around the staff were very accomodating. The other set meal came with a choice of a...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». Wow, reading my last post just serves to remind how long it has been since I’ve written here. It comes down to much less time (a lot more work) and a lot less energy to do so, though I must say the level of eating hasn’t slowed down. C and I have agreed to spend less on food, which means cooking and eating at home more, though we still keep our weekend tradition of having one, or a few, nice meals. January 1, 2009 at 7:41 am. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». Over our break, we made the food pilgrimage to Saikung. I would love to visit more but we don’t go because of the distance. Since time isn’t an issue over our break, we made it there twice. The first time, we went specially for Anthony’s Ranch. I had high hopes when Time Out gave Anthony’s five stars, praising it to high heaven for its ribs and brisket, and so I made a trip to Saikung on our must-do list this time. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Leave a comment ». I haven’t had much energy recently. The collapse in the financial system comes at somewhat personal costs. I’m not referring to my job – that’s keeping me extremely busy at the moment and while any position is dispensible I reckon mine’s safe for now. Nonetheless, it does take an emotional toll to look on and contemplate the after effects, both professional and personal. There is a good amount of hubris among bankers I meet, but no sympathy? I wonder ...

On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Sunday, 21 June 2009. It's Sunday and you want to chill out somewhere for brunch. Running out of ideas? Head to Festival Walk @ Kowloon Bay and check out the brunch menus at Simply Life Bakery Cafe. I ordered a brunch set that includes mushroom soup and egg florentine. The portion is relatively big but not too much that you can't finish when you are combining two meals. Saturday, 6 June 2009. The chicken satay dipped in peanut sauce is not too sp...

Veggie Foodie: Buddha Hut
http://adalinelau.blogspot.com/2009/06/buddha-hut.html
On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Saturday, 6 June 2009. If you want a vegetarian version of the likes of local fast food chains such as Fairwood or Cafe De Coral, there's just one such restaurant located near Kowloon Bay MTR station called Buddha Hut. I decided to make my way there one afternoon and took my friend, Jessie along. We ordered cold buckwheat noodles sprinkled with sesame seeds on top and gravy that comes separately, when added gives the dish a refreshing taste.

On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Sunday, 25 January 2009. Build your own burger. Fancy building your own burger? Well, they didn't really allow me to change around the ingredients, so they shouldn't claim themselves as the DIY restaurant. However, they did allow me to switch the bread to a honey wheat one which tasted better than the norm. What I like about Gourmet Burger Union. Thursday, 15 January 2009. Dessert at UCC Cafe. Monday, 12 January 2009. Extra Spicy Yunan Noodles.
Veggie Foodie: May 2009

On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Friday, 29 May 2009. Paramita vegetarian restaurant offers fushion food that looks and taste a little too much like real meat and is definitely for the more adventourous food lover. Some carnivores don't understand why vegetarians want to eat veggie meats but these are designed to lure new converts who have decided to go vegetarian for merciful reasons yet still crave for 'meat' without having to kill animals. There are 2 Paramita restaurants - o...

On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Monday, 8 December 2008. Where's your favourite pasta restaurant? Where do you usually go for pasta? What do you look for in a pasta? Do you prefer more ingredients less pasta or more pasta and few ingredients? How about the sauce? How do you prefer it to be done? My sister's colleague introduced her to a restaurant called Pasta de Waraku. Where there's an outlet. Sunday, 7 December 2008. Flour stick wrapped in rice noodle skin? But that's basica...
Veggie Foodie: Salad Buffet @ JW Marriott
http://adalinelau.blogspot.com/2009/07/salad-buffet-jw-marriott.html
On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Sunday, 5 July 2009. Salad Buffet @ JW Marriott. Salads can be eaten as a meal on its own and it's becoming popular to create your own salads by choosing the ingredients you like than be forced to choose from the limited salad varieties i.e. ceasar salad. When your bowl is reasonably filled with all the ingredients you like, you surrender it to the 'tosser' who will ask you which salad dressing you want (I like to choose at least 2 different dres...

On the prowl for delicious vegetarian food in a meat city. Wednesday, 18 March 2009. Lunch after charity walk in Tai Po. Monday, 16 March 2009. Feast @ Causeway Bay. I've highlighted some of the dishes in this entry there are two plates of cold dishes. I like the beancurd skin in the first picture but the mayonnaise in the second picture was too creamy for my liking. I did enjoy the deep fried veggie cuttlefish ball though. It was quite a feast indeed! Lunch @ The Mistral. Sunday, 8 March 2009. Chris Sha...

April 11, 2014 · 10:47 pm. Here comes the sun (and the sexism…). Yes, chaps, I decided not to wear tights. I had the audacity to walk round London bare-legged (from the knee-cap down, no less) and then react with outrage (and perhaps more naively, surprise) at the sudden increase of unwanted attention on the London streets. But it seems that, by shedding my winter uniform of thick black tights, my parole officially ended yesterday. 8221; that bought me my peace. How sad is that? A guy shouldn’t lea...

A collection of things i find lovely. Juice is ready to go! So i’m off to America in two weeks and before I went I thought it would be good to do a juice cleanse! I think I’m going to do it for three days and it’s a DIY version of the Blueprint Foundation Cleanse. I’m using the recipes from Moderate Indulgence. As a basis with a couple of tweaks! Although I won’t be making the C.A.B juice and instead doing two green smoothies a day). I’ll let you know how it goes :). My only regret is that. 1 ⁄ 32.
