Had to have some rushed dental work done to speed up getting on the transplant list. They’re extremely serious about leaving nothing to chance. Almost done with that mess. So waiting around for my system to get normalized enough in the hospital I had a “bleed” where a varix or multiple varices popped under the pressure of portal hypertension. I'd Rather be Doing Science! July 21, 2016. Bloodwork sent off to LL team. Went down for the usual regular appointment. No mention of elevated toxins, ammonia (and I hadn’t had lactulose the day of the test to avoid… problems) and sodium and potassium worries laid to rest. Levels were spot on. Doctor didn’t have issue with playing with lactulose dosing, been at minimal dosage and it’s more than enough. Kidneys look totally back to normal again. 8230;What else…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

I'd Rather be Doing Science! April 14, 2016. They never said regular blood draws would be mandatory to stay on the transplant list. They are. Still don’t know what frequency. As seems to be usual though, their paranoia kicked into high gear. White blood cell count was already back down, knew it was nothing. First half of the other test came back clear. Duh. When we pulled the catheter after well more than 24 hours in, then started yanking IVs- one keeps oozing what looks like the salty sugar water solution they were pumping into it.
