It is always a good practice to keep your websites up to date. It was really painful when we upgraded our projects from Rails 2 to 3 as it was a major release and lacked backward compatibilities. However, the upgrade from Rails 3 to 4 isnt that painful. Here is the upgrade checklist. 1 Ruby 2.0 is preferred; 1.9.3 required.
