Say hello to the reliability canary — Ethereum Alarm Clock

http://blog.ethereum-alarm-clock.com/blog/2015/12/25/say-hello-to-the-reliability-canary

Say hello to the reliability canary. December 25, 2015. One of the claims that I've made about the Ethereum Alarm Clock is that it should be capable of being extremely reliable. Today, I am proud to introduce everyone to the Reliability Canary. An attempt at measuring the reliability of the Alarm service. Source code available here. I'm hoping that I don't have to kill too many canaries. Our first canary has been euthanized. In favor of a newer more healthy canary. Which was just deployed.

v0.7.0 Deployment Progress — Ethereum Alarm Clock

http://blog.ethereum-alarm-clock.com/blog/2016/1/30/v070-deployment-progress

January 30, 2016. Then next version of Alarm is being deployed now. As part of this deploy I will be taking all of the scheduling clients pointed at the v6 service offline to prioritize v7. I've verified that the only calls scheduled are mine so I don't expect this to effect anyone. If it does, please reach out to me. This also means that the current reliability canary is likely to die within the next two hours. This canary contract represents 20 days of call scheduling reliability. January 30, 2016.

Musings on future design patterns for Alarm — Ethereum Alarm Clock

http://blog.ethereum-alarm-clock.com/blog/2015/11/10/musings-on-future-design-patterns-for-alarm

Musings on future design patterns for Alarm. November 10, 2015. This has been an inspirational week. Devcon1 has been one of my first opportunities to have in person conversations about Ethereum and Alarm with people who are familiar with the subject matter. It isn't surprising that I've had a few great ideas come out of those conversations, and I'd like to share them with you. S talk on Contract-Oriented Programming. I currently have a command line utility embedded. No More Caller Pools. This eliminates...

The story of three brave canaries. — Ethereum Alarm Clock

http://blog.ethereum-alarm-clock.com/blog/2016/1/2/the-story-of-three-brave-canaries

The story of three brave canaries. January 02, 2016. It's been almost a week and so far I'm really happy with the Reliability Canary system. Thus far two canaries have died. Both of these are based on a (known) issue with the ethereum-rpc-client. That causes it to overload the geth JSON-RPC server which in-turn causes the scheduling client to crash. I've been putting some extra work into the rpc client and the newly released ethereum-ipc-client. Happened because now that the RPC Client didn't get restart...

v0.7.0 in testing on the testnet — Ethereum Alarm Clock

http://blog.ethereum-alarm-clock.com/blog/2016/1/30/v070-in-testing-on-the-testnet

V070 in testing on the testnet. January 30, 2016. The next iteration of the Alarm service has been deployed to the testnet @ 0x26416b12610d26fd31d227456e9009270574038f. Main net deploy within the week if I don't find any major issues. This is a pretty major release so I want to be sure that everything is running smoothly. Code for this release can be found in the master branch on github. https:/ github.com/pipermerriam/ethereum-alarm-clock/. Some basic example contracts can be found. January 30, 2016.

Verifying the Source Code. The Alarm service is comprised of one normal contract and four library contracts. Verification of the alarm source requires independent verification of each of these contracts. The source code for this release can be found 0.7.0 release on github. To verify the compiled code of the contract, you will need to compile the source below with the solc compiler. You will likely need to use the same version used when deploying the contract,. The source was compiled with the command.

We are here to fix the finance world. As widely reported in the media, there was a small typo in the token contract which required a fix from our side. We fixed the flaw and swapped the users to a new contract. We have deployed HackerGold token and swapped all the assets to the new contract - all 520 token holders are saved now. No action required from the token holders: The token can be used as before on the www.MyEtherWallet.com. Using the same private keys. More news and updates in a few days. What we...

Catching up with Etherkit. Si5351A Breakout Board Now Available Assembled. We’ve got some excellent news to report! Etherkit has started to branch out into partial kits; where all of the SMT components are assembled onto the PCB here and the product is tested for functionality. We understand that not everyone is comfortable with assembling SMT kits, especially those with fine-pitch components such as the TSSOP Si5351A. Once those are gone, we will no longer be stocking the Si5351A Breakout Board as a kit.
