Greggy's Bits

Just some guy who writes software. April 23rd, 2010. I made a free version of Edgewise for the iPhone. It hit the app store yesterday. It’s just like the paid version except it bugs you to buy the game if you really like it. I thought about making the free one be ad supported, but I decided to wait. I may change my mind after I learn more about the various mobile ad platforms. Or after Apple’s announced ad service goes live. August 14th, 2009. I updated the iPhone version of Edgewise. March 31st, 2009.

Just some guy who writes software. Dilbert 2.0 Viewer. Dilbert 2.0 Viewer is an unofficial companion to Dilbert 2.0: 20 Years of Dilbert. Dilbert 2.0 is a very nice coffee table book containing a few thousand Dilbert comic strips along with some history and commentary by author Scott Adams. It goes nicely with my The Complete Far Side. And my The Complete Calvin and Hobbes. This application does not contain the Dilbert comics. It does not download the comics from the web. Go buy the book!

Track It

http://www.greggybits.com/track-it.html

Just some guy who writes software. Track It helps keep track of shipped packages. It's pretty simple minded and has very few features. Greg made it one Christmas season when he had, at one point, seventeen different packages in transit to or from the mainland. He grew tired of groveling through his emails looking for links to shipping web sites and tracking numbers and such to check on the progress of his packages. Right now Track It supports four different shippers: US Postal Service (USPS).

Just some guy who writes software. Welcome to Greggy Bits Software. Writes software for fun. Once in a while somebody will pay him to do it and the rest of the time he plays around on his own projects. On rare occasions these projects become full applications that other people may find enjoyable or useful. Here are a few of them. The Mac OS X version of Edgewise is pretty old. Really, really, old. It might not be worth mentioning any more. Dilbert 2.0 Viewer.

Edgewise for iPhone

http://www.greggybits.com/edgewise.html

Just some guy who writes software. Edgewise is a free solitaire card game played with a standard 52 card deck. The object of the game is to deal all of the face cards around the edge of a square playing field. It is an easy game to learn how to play, yet it is difficult to win. Tap an empty place on the field to deal a card there. Tap cards to mark them. When they add up to 10 they'll be removed. There is one way to win the game. Deal all 12 face cards around the edge of the field. Edgewise settings cont...

Science Vs. Science. I listen to a few too many podcasts. One of them is Science Vs. It seems right up my alley. Im a believer of science. I think the show probably mostly preaches to the choir but I still enjoy it. Wendy Zukerman sounds a lot like my sister, fun, likes dumb jokes, puns, fart noises, etc. It sounds like wed get along great. There was an episode a few months ago entitled True Love. On today’s episode we explore: What happens to the brain when we fall in love? Wendy though seemed to be try...

I Believe God

A continuing journey…. The Year of the Lord’s Favor. January 1st, 2018 Author:. For Christmas, I gave Robyn, our kids and our sons-in-law, each a small smooth stone on which I’d painted a theme Scripture for the new year. Each of them was different. As I begin this post, it’s a little after 5:30 am on January 1, 2018, so Happy New Year! Robyn and I have declared it the Year of the Lord’s Favor (from Isaiah 61:2), which was the verse I gave to her. Yesterday morning, we got one. November 20th, 2017 Author:.

Now is better than never

Now is better than never. As a professional web developer, I have a love of solving new, perplexing, and challenging problems on a daily basis. Sometimes I also travel. Apple's 3rd Quarter Results - iPhone Up 142%; iPad Up 183%. I often wonder (or maybe it’s hope) that some day, some other large company, perhaps even plural, will catch on that what Apple and Steve Jobs are doing isn’t magic; they’re proving that you can actually make money by putting the customer experience first. Additionally, as I&rsqu...

Greg Honda Photography

Friday, May 20, 2011. The Hazards Of Photography. It was supposed to be an epic shot, instead it turned into an epic failure! It happened when the University of Hawaii played New Mexico State during the 2009-2010 football season. It was late in the game and the Hawaii Warriors had a comfortable lead. Hawaii had the ball on about the New Mexico 35 yard line and I was positioned at the back of the end-zone near the goal post. This shot is the frame right before they came crashing into me). While organizing...
