October 9, 2012. Earlier this week, I wrote a python script to retrieve and print a list of stock quotes. Unfortunately, most APIs were either deprecated (thanks google! Or didn’t provide percentage change data. Time for a stock data scraping script. The only really cool part of the code is the multithreaded fetcher and parser. Each ticker symbol is scraped in parallel and the data is extracted. Each symbol is fetched in parallel and printed when all are scrapes are finished. View project on Github.
