When the waiter came to check on us at dinner the other night, he found that I had eaten every single bite of my four gigantic blueberry pancakes as well as my two eggs and two bacons. You ate it all! He tried to recover by saying,. But did he really think it was awesome? I didn't really think it was awesome. I thought it was horrific. My recollection, and I was writing about it pretty much daily at the time, was that passing the Affordable Care Act was pretty difficult business, involving a ton of work by President Obama and congressional Democrats. Obama held countless meetings with Republicans and Democrats, including more than one public forum. The bill was introduced nearly a year before it would win final passage. Passage was arduous and difficult.
