being and nothingness: May 2009
http://beingnothingness.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, May 28, 2009. I've decided to keep a separate wedding photography blog so that any potential clients don't have to wade through lots of other stuff. Go and take a look. Http:/ ithadtobeyouweddingphotography.blogspot.com/. This now means I have 4 websites and 2 blogs to maintain - perhaps I need to simplify my life; ). Fora anyone interested in the educational consultancy work and wants to see the CV then I'm at www.loumcgill.co.uk. Thursday, May 28, 2009. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

being and nothingness: new beginnings
http://beingnothingness.blogspot.com/2008/02/new-beginnings.html
Friday, February 15, 2008. It feels like we are coming out of hibernation. So much has happened that I don't have time to do write it all down, but I think we're coming back to the blogging and soon to the home education. I am going to try to make some money with a bit of elearning consultancy and my photography. I've been working on a new website and not had any time for flickr or the blogging. Maybe I can start to catch up again with my non work life! The new photography website. We too are downsizing,...

being and nothingness: do educational institutions have a future?
http://beingnothingness.blogspot.com/2009/11/do-educational-institutions-have-future.html
Monday, November 02, 2009. Do educational institutions have a future? This is a post about one of the sessions in the JISC Innovating Learning 2009 Online Conference. Martin has looked at this from the angle of the academic/scholar and engaged in a conversation with some of his future selves. Rob Howe has offered us a range of futures through the eyes of four learners. And more beards. Personally I really love the last one with the TRIPE invention which involves tingling brains and Tesco's. He al...Will ...

being and nothingness: June 2009
http://beingnothingness.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, June 27, 2009. Twice a year we usually have to deal with our son getting very upset and having a week or so of sadness, crying and inability to sleep. This is because on his birthday and at christmas his dad sends him a parcel and a letter. He would check his email every day to see if his dad had responded. Not a sausage. Then yesterday - out of the blue - L got a postcard from Poland from his dad. He doesn't mean that though - he really wants to see his dad. It is such a shame. I think it'...

being and nothingness: September 2010
http://beingnothingness.blogspot.com/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 09, 2010. Most people are horrified when I tell them that my son does most of his socialising with his peers over the internet. They are worried because he doesn't go to school and 'get' socialised there (we do home learning - see early blog post to find out why. For children on the autistic spectrum - being forced into a school environment is at best a daily challenge:. To understand the teacher enough to learn. To cope with the unwritten rules that children live by. I have no doubt ...

being and nothingness: February 2010
http://beingnothingness.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 26, 2010. I've been away for a while - trying to focus only on what I have to. Lots happening and will do a catch up post soon. However I am moved to write today following the ridiculous media and government response to the court case about the awful death of 7 year old Khyra Ishaq. A large section of the home learning community have been waiting for this to happen - but it still doesn't stop you feeling extremely angry and upset. Why? Well blatant lies usually make me get upset. Have re...
