Stuff about reading and writing fiction and other crap that I want to talk about. Back on the eBook bandwagon. November 3, 2008. I started reading eBooks a few years back. I used to have a Palm Tungsten E2 Handheld. Which was a great device for reading eBooks. Eventually, I dropped the device a few to many times and the screen broke. My fault, not the devices. I’m pretty clumsy with things like that. Earlier this year, I bought an ASUS Eee PC. Wine is an easy to install Linux program that allows you to i...

Novel Writing Software

Stuff about reading and writing fiction and other crap that I want to talk about. May 6, 2009. I downloaded some new novel writing software to help with a kids chapter book that I started the other day. I decided that it could be helpful to use it to transition from plot idea, to outline and then to finished draft. The really cool part of using novel writing software is that it lets you keep track of all of your notes, easily bounce from scene to scene, keeps track of word counts of each scene and chapte...

Stuff about reading and writing fiction and other crap that I want to talk about. Rabbit, Run…that dragon is going to get you. January 2, 2009. I’m reading Rabbit, Run. These days. I’m also thinking about my own writing pretend plans. I started wondering why nobody seems to write Literature (with a capital L) set within the framework of made up worlds. That seems like it would be a fun thing to write. January 2, 2009 at 2:08 pm. Good question, Mike. I tend to avoid novels that deal with those mundane...

A good writing critic is awesome
http://www.kalbzayn.com/218/a-good-writing-critic-is-awesome
Stuff about reading and writing fiction and other crap that I want to talk about. A good writing critic is awesome. October 30, 2009. I pounded out a quick short story the other day and sent it around to a few friends for suggestions and critiques. That’s pretty big for two reasons. One, I rarely finish writing and editing a story. Two, I rarely get feedback before killing the story or dropping it somewhere on the Internet. She will be getting bugged by me to look at the stories I write in the future.

Katy's Wonderland: October 2007
http://katyswonderland.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 18, 2007. I spent an hour on the phone with my agent this evening, discussing the whys and the wherefores and the way forward with The Book. The good thing is that she still loves the story. She just wants to make it bigger and better. She wants my little book to be all that it can be. This is great. But it involves a lot of work, and a lot of thinking. It's about the town, now. It's about how this little market town in Hertfordshire isn't like anywhere else. It's about how that...It's ...

Amy Ruttan: Danica Avet's 1000th Post
http://amyruttan.blogspot.com/2013/11/danica-avets-1000th-post.html
Wednesday, November 20, 2013. Danica Avet's 1000th Post. I first met the awesome Danica Avet before I actually met her. If that makes sense. See, I didn't officially meet her face-to-face until this past October at Romanticon 2013. BUT we were talking online for a year and I think that counts for a lot. We also discovered we have a similar warped sense of humor. I've been running a bit behind with deadlines and family issues, but today is her 1000th post and she's having a huge giveaway. Where to Find Me.
