Pointing you in the right direction. Fontainebleau is probably the most documented bouldering area in the world which means you have a lot of choice when it comes to guide books. Broadly speaking there are three main different styles of guides: Circuit guides, Off-Circuit (A.K.A Off-Piste ) guides and, thirdly, guides that are a large mixture of both of these. The sandstone boulders of Font offer a huge variety of features: slopers, crimps, roofs, high-balls, rounded mantles, dynos, aretes, slabs, compression problems and pretty much anything else you can think of. If you can't find a problem in Font that's your style then maybe bouldering's not for you. Sandstone by it's nature is very susceptible to erosion so make sure you clean your shoes before stepping on to the rock and don't climb on wet or even damp rock. Planes, trains and automobiles. If you live in mainland Europe just hop in, put Fontainebleau into your sat nav and you're off. If you live in the UK you have a couple of options. You can either jump on the Euro Tunnel. Or hop on a ferry. Various ferry operators including P&O. All run various routes between England and France. Do the tourist thing. The best rest day activity is a trip into Paris with it's plethora of museums, galleries, shopping and restaurants, not forgetting the iconic Eiffel Tower. Even if you have a car you're best bet is to hop on a train which will take you to Gare de Lyon right in the heart of Paris. If you have children with you, or just big kids, Disneyland Paris is only an hour north. A more local rest day option is to explore the spectacular Château de Fontainebleau. Must Keep. Climbing.
