In Season
https://brettpaynesilversmith.wordpress.com/2015/05/14/monthly-pin-up-may
May 14, 2015 1:41 pm. October 28, 2015. After a very enjoyable show (and even some sunshine! At RHS Garden Wisley this month we felt in the mood for fresh, seasonal produce. In the month of May that means asparagus! There’s all sorts you can do with this tasty delicacy but we like it best simply steamed and ‘un-messed-with’, served with a creamy Hollandaise sauce. Oct 14, 2016 2:36 pm. October 31, 2016. Those of you who visited our stand at Goldsmiths’ Fair this year will have noticed the three new pieces we have been making over the summer – a series of solid silver vases. This summer project has allowed us to combine our signature sculptural hot-forgings with the technique of raising, a process that requires patience and precision and uses a more delicate hammer than Brett’s favourite 1.5 kilo forging tool. The Butler Did It

August 7, 2015 9:55 am. October 28, 2015. The Butler Did It. Advertisement for ‘Punch’ Magazine, 1939. 8216;It’s all to clean…’. The butler did it, of course! Today the honoured craft of ‘butling’, as P.G. Wodehouse would call it, has all but died out and the Jeeves’ of this world are few and far between. The butlers may have disappeared from the modern home but that need not mean that silverware should also disappears from its tables. Indeed no! The good news is that all of our silver products are solid...
The Classic Candlestick
https://brettpaynesilversmith.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/monthly-pin-up-july
July 20, 2015 11:05 am. October 28, 2015. This year we decided to make July a ‘rest month’ – but that doesn’t mean that we’ve been loafing about watching the tennis and the cricket. Certainly not! We’ve taken a rest from shows this month and dedicated ourselves to spending some much needed time in the workshop, making pieces and indulging in some new designs (watch this space…). As with many of our designs, however, it can be arranged together with a partner or even as a set of 4 to form more complex mod...

Brett Payne Silverware: Jewellery
http://www.brettpayne.com/sitepages/jewellery.html
From the late 1980’s until 2005 I designed and made a very successful range of Silver and Gold Jewellery. Primarily I specialized in producing Necklaces and Bracelets, but I also made a complimentary range of Earrings and Cuff-links. These pieces were first and foremost ‘Silversmiths’ Jewellery’ that is to say they contained no stones, relying for effect on the interplay of Silver and coloured Golds.

Brett Payne Silverware: Candlesticks
http://www.brettpayne.com/sitepages/cookware.html
The Pans that Brett Payne makes are made from Britannia Silver (958). They are intended either for use as cooking pans or for serving food on the table. Silver pans can be used in a similar fashion to Copper pans, although Silver conducts heat more efficiently; they can be used on gas or electric cookers as well as Agas or similar stoves, however because Silver is not magnetic they do not work on induction hobs.

The Butler Did It. August 7, 2015. Advertisement for ‘Punch’ Magazine, 1939. 8216;It’s all to clean…’. With the recent popularity of programmes such as ‘Downton Abbey’ we can’t help noticing the extensive silver services such households would have used at every mealtime – even the afternoon tea was served on a silver tray with a silver teapot and tea spoons. Keeping all of that silver polished and pristine must have been a mammoth task – how did they manage it? The butler did it, of course! The good news...
My Searchlight Truck
Building the World's Most Powerful Searchlight Truck. People always ask me why I am spending all my time and money building a life-size Tonka toy. This is my answer:. First some background information on the searchlights.
