the hunt for intellectual vitality – Bridging the Gap
https://bridgingthegap2015.wordpress.com/2016/03/19/the-hunt-for-intellectual-vitality
475 days of summer. A Round the World. A Collection of Gratitude. The hunt for intellectual vitality. It’s actually fascinating, this process of becoming dedicated to learning again, because my notes have gradually become more and more detailed, incorporated more and more case law examples and their material facts, rather than just a name-drop. Notes become clearer, essays become crisper, blog posts begin to reappear, and voilà, I think I’m almost back to myself again. March 19, 2016.
where did we go right – Bridging the Gap

475 days of summer. A Round the World. A Collection of Gratitude. Where did we go right. And along the way, I’ve learned that no matter how easy or difficult the decision to defer enrollment might seem at the time, it’s nothing compared to the confusion and exhaustion that comes later. Well, the latter is certainly true, but somehow, what happens will be exactly what you weren’t prepared for, whether it’s visa troubles for your travel partner or trains cancelled for no good reason. 475 days of summer. A Round the World. A Collection of Gratitude. 8220;Later in life, said Grandma, I’ve often caught myself longing for the great, all-encompassing, unavoidable, and irrevocable catastrophe. An undertow that leaves nothing behind; no remains, no memories, no sorrows. Just . And then: peace. And then: the end.”. 8220;Remember, once when you were a lad of only five summers, that I took you to meet Painda Khan, the old man of the Kharots who had crossed his hundred summers? 8220;Nightly, pr...
never alone – Bridging the Gap
https://bridgingthegap2015.wordpress.com/2016/03/30/never-alone
475 days of summer. A Round the World. A Collection of Gratitude. That I never thought of, but always knew, a future I didn’t really imagine and yet always accepted. And from the present, I’ve learned that I can sit with myself, alone, whether on a park bench in Liverpool or a café stool in Cambridge. And it’s this that I’ve gained most of all. I used to define myself with adjectives. Now I describe myself with verbs. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Share on Facebook (Opens in new window).
everyday choice – Bridging the Gap
https://bridgingthegap2015.wordpress.com/2016/01/29/everyday-choice
475 days of summer. A Round the World. A Collection of Gratitude. Some of the changes in who I am are simple. I’m almost an adult. I’m accustomed to walking alone through the streets of a foreign city. I eat at restaurants more than the once-a-month that I used to. But some are far more complex, and have taken a lot of introspection and psychoanalysis to comprehend. That’s called depression. And it doesn’t let you feel. All of these emotions hurt. They’ve all taken many hours running, exploring...Address...

Who I Am and Why I’m Here | Saachi Minocha

Who I Am and Why I’m Here. June 11, 2015. June 11, 2015. The title of this post sounds very existential. Don’t worry though- I’m not gonna get too deep. I’m writing this post as a part of Blogging 101, to give you some context if you’re a new reader or to define my blog if you’re an existing reader. (Or really, to bring some focus to this for myself and figure out where I’m going with this). To ‘ Top 10 Things You Can Do to Instantly Lift Your Mood 🙂. It’s only Day 4 of Blogging 101, but I’m...Please le...

January 11, 2015. January 11, 2015. Yes, we’re already 11 days into it, but I go back to college tomorrow so. The new year starts now. I wanted to revisit my resolutions from last year. And evaluate a little. I’m also going to go ahead and set a few (more concrete) goals for this year. Disclaimer: Yes, I realize that January 1st isn’t some magical day whereupon you will suddenly have the motivation to do everything you ever wanted to do. But January always feels like a fresh start to me! But only because...

On Meditation: You Don’t Have to Sit Still. August 11, 2015. August 11, 2015. I’ve been trying out a new ritual for the summer. In the morning, I’ll roll out my mat, put on a Youtube yoga video, and spend anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes trying to find my inner zen. (Is that the right phrase? 8220;find my inner zen”? I do Yoga with Adriene videos, and she likes to include a couple minutes of corpse pose at the end of them. Initially, I thought to myself “This is the ideal time for meditation! My mind’...
New York (Part 1) | Saachi Minocha

New York (Part 1). July 4, 2014. June 11, 2015. Andddd I’m back! I have no proper excuse for delaying this post for so long- I’ve been doing nothing. Absolutely nothing. Since I got back from New York, all I’ve done is go out with my friends, catch up on TV shows, paint my nails and pig out. It’s been amazing. I feel like I haven’t properly done nothing in months. But let’s get back to New York. This post has been a long time coming. Previously, we had decided on renting bikes to ride through the park so...

New York (Part 2). September 9, 2014. June 11, 2015. Start here with New York (Part 1). For a refresher on where we left off! Having had breakfast at a little store/buffet place in Times Square a while ago (no idea what it was called but I ended up getting enough home fries for three people) we were ready for lunch. I insisted on Indian. I. Indian food, and I heard it’s amazing in New York. With a little help from Zagat, I discovered this restaurant called Dhaba. Interior of the restaurant. The Greenwich...
Graduation | Saachi Minocha
https://saachiminocha.wordpress.com/2014/06/13/graduation
June 13, 2014. January 1, 2015. This post actually isn’t really about graduation- it’s about what I wore. So much more superficial but also something I’m proud of. I spent a very long time trying to get the pieces for this outfit together and I’m happy with the end result. Of course, this is from after the graduation ceremony. A couple of my friends and our families went to dinner and it was a wonderful way to top it all off. Outfit details: Dress- Altar’d State. Isn’t that how things are done? Address n...

MOMA | Saachi Minocha

The Museum of Modern Art. This gets real picture-heavy, folks. If you know anything about me, you know that my high school Humanities class was one of my favorite things in the entire world. It satisfied the World History credit but it was so much more. Firstly, we noticed a huge crowd around a certain painting…. Starry Night. Of course. It was beautiful- don’t get me wrong- but it looked exactly how I expected it to. Honestly, you can see the brush strokes almost as well in online pict...I can’t d...
