A passionate, (a little) crazy , God loving family. Christmas stuff December 18, 2009. 8212; npowers83 @ 4:12 pm. This picture isn’t great because it’s from my phone, but I had to share it. Jackson had his Christmas program yesterday and was a shepherd. He was so adorable. It almost made me cry. What was even better was that the other shepherds are 2 of his best friends! If you look closely one of the angels has only one arm. Ha. One Response to “Christmas stuff”. December 18, 2009 at 11:59 pm. Tie it up...

The Powers' House: March 2014
http://powershouseblog.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 17, 2014. Caddo Lake [Spring Break 2014]. This year for Spring Break, we headed to East Texas for five days at Caddo Lake. It's become a family favorite. We love it there! This year we stayed in Barnstormer on Taylor Island (my favorite area to stay) and we had a lovely time! We spent a lot of time fishing, eating, canoeing, and just unplugging from our sometimes crazy life. Game night after the kids went to bed. Exploring at Caddo Lake. Aaron, Abby, and Mattie. Sunday, March 2, 2014. We fi...

Thursday, April 17, 2014. Our dear friend, Francesca. Gave me the sweetest gift for Christmas. She told me I could take one of her classes for free. (She has a great art studio/gallery- Roadhouse Arts. In the end, she let me take Beginning Soldering and the following Next Steps Soldering class. I never thought I'd be one to enjoy jewelry making, but I had the best time! Jewelry I made in my beginning soldering class. Francesca said my "earrings needed a selfie". Ha! Well, here it is. The girls and I went...

The Powers' House: Reading List [2015]
http://powershouseblog.blogspot.com/p/reading-list-2015.html
Books Completed in 2015. A sweet modern day love story with likable characters. I thought the end when they finally end up together was a little too. lacking. "Oh, I've been in love with you from a distance and now you're here. Let's make out! I'll love you forever and ever." But I guess the point of the story is the journey to getting there. And that was fun/sweet. 10 Conversations to Have with Your Children [Boteach]. The 3 Big Questions for a Frantic Family [Lencioni]. Strengthsfinder 2.0 [Rath].

The Powers' House: Pat Green Concert
http://powershouseblog.blogspot.com/2009/09/pat-green-concert.html
Saturday, September 19, 2009. Saw Pat Green last night at Stubb's. In Austin and it was A-MAZ-ING. Aaron and I have always said Pat Green is sort of the sountrack of our life (some songs are obvious exceptions, but.), and last night was so much fun! We were right in front of the stage with just a few people in front of us and he put on a great show! I regret that I only took my point and shoot camera (which I now hate), but I managed to get a few decent pictures. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

The Powers' House: Reading List [2014]
http://powershouseblog.blogspot.com/p/reading-list-2014_4.html
Traveling Mercies is a memoir of Anne Lamott and her faith journey. I loved how raw and candid she was. (Book club selection). Young House Love: 243 Ways to Paint, Craft, Update. Your Home. 9829; - This was good, but not. I guess I've been spoiled by Pinterest). Cute ideas. I'm impressed by their skills. It had a few ideas I felt like I could execute. I had [kind of] high hopes for this book after I saw it on a list of top romantic reads that happened to include These is My Words. How to Be Rich. This bo...

The Powers' House: Homeschool Status
http://powershouseblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/homeschool-statusa-a.html
Thursday, March 12, 2015. When we began this homeschooling journey, I wasn't sure what to expect. I had significant doubt as to whether or not we could pull it off and whether it was truly the right thing for us. But as I sit here eight months into it, I can honestly say that I'm loving it, and the kids are too. They have never once asked to go back to school. Education is so much more fun and interesting the second time around! Homeschool Day at Sea World. And more time to just be together. And if I'm r...

The Corsar Family 4: Jorge the Light
http://corsarfam4.blogspot.com/2015/02/jorge-light.html
The Corsar Family 4. Tuesday, February 10, 2015. I'll never get tired of that feeling that washes over you when God shows up! She is in a public high school in a pretty big city. 1600 kids walk the halls daily. Since her first day of school I have emulated my cousin who has prayed this verse over her children:. Matthew 5:16, "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.". She comes home tired and depressed. This morning, I was impressed t...

The Powers' House: January 2015
http://powershouseblog.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2015. San Francisco [Day 3]. Now that I think about it, there wasn't a single day of this mini-vacation that we didn't hit the ground running. Day three's itinerary included the Golden Gate Bridge, Marin Headlands, and Little Italy. We started off with a big breakfast at Home Plate upon the recommendation of one of the locals. It was excellent fueled us up for what was to come. We then went to catch a bus that would take us across the Golden Gate to the Marin Headlands. By the evenin...
