A blog about the city of Los Angeles, the Green Party, and green politics in L.A. Saturday, October 22, 2005. A whore to special interests. The LA Times called out Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Yesterday for vetoing several bills that would have tried to collect taxes from businesses. It turns out the Governor, who pretends to care about balancing the California budget, isn't really very interested in half of the equation. Posted by michael at 3:27 PM. A blog about the city of Los Angeles, the Green Party, and green politics in L.A. Tuesday, February 17, 2009. Atul Gawande's Path Dependency Thesis. Writing in The New Yorker. In January, Atul Gawande makes a case for a pragmatic approach to health care reform. Gawande calls the need to start with what we have "path dependence," and he argues that every major universal health care system around the world was built this way. Of course, pragmatism is the theme of Gawande’s article. He cites path depend...

And I dreamed I saw the bombers / Riding shotgun in the sky / And they were turning into butterflies / Above our nation. We are stardust / Billion year old carbon / We are golden / Caught in the devil's bargain / And we've got to get ourselves / Back to the garden. October 27, 2006. The Great Wall of Bush. Have you ever heard the old joke about Mexican Olympic atheletes? Why has Mexico never won a gold metal in the summer games? Because any of us that can run, swim, or jump are already here! 2) by redesi...

We are stardust / Billion year old carbon / We are golden / Caught in the devil's bargain / And we've got to get ourselves / Back to the garden. March 22, 2006. I was reading Rolling Stone. Magazine and came across an advertisement that caught my eye. I am less impressed with the solicitation to apply for yet another credit card (more on that subject later) as I was with the format.
