Carmen's Fun Painty Time: Mice and Mystics: Downwood Tales WIP

http://carmensminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/2015/02/mice-and-mystics-downwood-tales-wip.html

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Mice and Mystics: Downwood Tales WIP. I got a good start on my minion figures from the Downwood Tales expansion for Mice and Mystics. I started off by using my monochromatic method to paint the skin on the frogs and newts; I'm finding it very easy to speed paint large areas of skin like this. It also goes a lot faster, of course. February 27, 2015 at 9:18 AM. Weird and awesome stuff! Cant wait to see them finished. Looks good already. February 27, 2015 at 10:53 AM. I need to...

Carmen's Fun Painty Time: New Steve Barber Samurai

http://carmensminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/2015/04/new-steve-barber-samurai.html

Thursday, April 9, 2015. New Steve Barber Samurai. I already have Steve working on the next commission, and it's a big(ger) one - something a little more special for the samurai range. I'll keep it under wraps until I get some photos, but it involves multiple figures. July 29, 2015 at 8:38 AM. Fantastic man. I hope to get into the hobby one day as well and you are definitely an inspiration. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). What Ive been up to. New Steve Barber Samurai. 54mm cave men (Waiteri tribe).

Carmen's Fun Painty Time: Samurai commissions

http://carmensminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/2015/03/samurai-commissions.html

Sunday, March 15, 2015. These are all the figures I've commissioned in 2014. A few notes: the samurai in the orange shirt and the one with the yari. Are variations of the same figure, both of which are available in Steve Barber's catalog. For one commission, I let Steve. Choose what to sculpt, and the result was the neat armored bandit at far right. The archer here was my first commission. I missed the first anniversary, which was a couple months ago, of my first samurai commission with Steve Barber.

Carmen's Fun Painty Time: Mouse and friends build a barrel

http://carmensminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/2015/03/mouse-and-friends-build-barrel.html

Sunday, March 22, 2015. Mouse and friends build a barrel. I was doing a crossword at a local pizza joint; one of the answers was, "stave," which inspired my to do this little doodle on a napkin. Later in the day, I penciled and inked the bigger page, and I finished painting it this evening. The caption reads, "Well how in the hell did we make the first one? I'm sure there's some lesson in there somewhere. March 22, 2015 at 7:52 AM. Ahh, the lost art of the cooper.inspired artwork BTW. 40mm editor's desk ...

Carmen's Fun Painty Time: What I've been up to

http://carmensminiaturepainting.blogspot.com/2015/04/what-ive-been-up-to.html

Sunday, April 26, 2015. What I've been up to. Sorry, I haven't had a lot of activity here lately. With the warmer weather, I've been out side painting the hell out of everything (watercolor, not miniatures). When the sun is out and the temperature is right, dainty flowers is the order of the day. And when I'm not outside painting, I'm inside letting off the excess art energy with more painting. I have a hell of a lot of watercolor paper, and I aim to use it all. May 28, 2015 at 8:26 AM. Samurai holding n...

Carrot and Stick: January 2014

http://beithir.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Friday, 24 January 2014. A Breath of Life! It's certainly been a while, but I'm still alive and kicking, and still intent on boring you with my continuing efforts to make a dent in my lead mountain. So, for 2014, these are the projects I want to try and tackle. In no particular order:. Project #1 - Wood Elves. Model Count = 128.

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Friday, 24 April 2015. This fearsome fellow is deputising as my warlord until I paint a couple of proper character figures up. Given his performances in our first set of SAGA games, that will be sooner rather than later! 25 April 2015 at 01:23. 2h axmen very cool, I love the Warlord Darkage plastics they are very versatile. A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Friday, 23 January 2015. Your Doom Approaches, Man-Things! Just to vary things up a little, and to avoid painting more Clanrats, I've decided to make my first foray into Clan Pestilens territory and paint up some Plague Monks. These will add another hard-hitting unit of troops to the army, and provide even more numbers! So, in lin...

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Friday, 30 May 2014. A Tale of Duelling Gamers - Enter Treeman! Stuck I had no idea where to go from there. Eventually, after plenty of trial and error, I stumbled on a scheme that I'm more-or-less happy with. In the end, I think I probably spent more time thinking. About how to paint the Treeman than actually painting him. I thin...

Carrot and Stick: April 2015

http://beithir.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Thursday, 30 April 2015. A Slight Change of Plan. I had sort of a plan at the start of the year for what I was going to try and get painted, but it looks like the plan is changing, as the Wyrley Retinue have now decided on our demo game for next year. Unfortunately for me, it doesn't involve Wood Elves, Skaven or LotR figures!

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Thursday, 19 March 2015. It's another slow month so far and the blogging has fallen behind a bit lately, but I am slowly making progress on a few fronts! First up, SAGA dice for my Viking warband. No Viking warband would be complete without livestock to steal! Courtesy of Magister Militum, there are six sheep,. View my complete pr...

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Wednesday, 1 April 2015. Here we are then, a little later than planned, the third unit of Warriors for my growing SAGA warband. The shields took a little longer with these because I started out painted some more elaborate designs, only to realise that they looked a bit too elaborate to waste on mere Warriors! 1 April 2015 at 13:43.

A blog in which I chronicle my attempts to reduce the mass numbers of unpainted models in my possession, as well as wax lyrical about random whatnots. The Host of Brenin-Armon. Saturday, 29 March 2014. A Tale of Duelling Gamers - Prologue. Not quite as ominous as it sounds - there are no pistols at dawn here, and the only things that will be flying are paintbrushes rather than bullets. You see, a Tale of Duelling Gamers is a painting challenge pioneered by Puddingwrestler of Terrain For Hippos. Anyone ma...

Carmen's Fun Painty Time

Thursday, February 1, 2018. Santa for Zombicide Black Plague. In my previous post, I showed some of the themed teams we use for Zombicide Black Plague; I also mentioned some of our custom survivors; here is my favorite customized survivor: Santa! If you have a little bit of skill with green stuff, here are the few steps I took to make Santa - there was no cutting or bending; it was all adding, sculpting and painting. BUT OF COURSE, I will be giving Santa his own group: Santa and the Elves. We love creati...
