Hello, Sailor!: Summer, In Short
http://www.mzlibrarian.com/2011/08/summer-in-short.html
Summer, In Short. Long time, no anything, huh? We had some weather and I haven't been able to manage communication. It's just not in me. I want to say all sorts of evil things about wind and houses and neighborhoods and insurance companies. Yes. Insurance companies. So, I'm going to gloss-over the whole tornado thing and focus on the awesomeness that happened this summer. We went to the McWane Science Center. It was loaded with children. Loaded. We still had a good time. We stopped by Mohican State Park.

Making it About Me. Excuse me while I self-indulge for a moment. I do not remember every student I've ever taught. I am not the teacher or librarian with the didactic memory. To be honest, half of my job as a librarian is to forget most of what I'm asked. I am a source for information, not a source for editorializing. And if my patrons thought I was remembering them or their queries, they'd quit asking me. I'm still writing the little brother weekly, and it's still taking pretty much everything I have to...

This space is a recent discovery for me. And you have to walk through a swamp created by oxbow lakes to get there. It's perfect - isolated with my southern swampy water and my northern running water. It's a place that I feel at home with all of my own conflicting geographies. Best Mac and Cheese Ever. 3 tablespoons dry breadcrumbs. 1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil. 1 16-ounce package of frozen spinach, thawed and patted dry. 1 3/4 cups milk, divided (1 1/2 cups, 1/4 cup). 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded.

John N. Berry III on Censure of Librarians. John N. Berry III, Editor-at-Large. Fun with the Folks. Mom is making wire-wrap rings. I totally don't have the patience for this. And she got some "work" done, so, you know, I had to get some "work" done. Yes Yes. It's pi. And Pie. Photos. Not Spiders. As ever, it was an awesome. Lots of great interaction, but even better food. Here is an example. This was in Ohio, too, though it might be a subdivision in Heaven. Seriously. And a very not-tame peahen. Speedy w...

It's been a busy week, as ever. I'm getting worse and worse about updating things here. The Little Brother did come for a visit. We went to see the Uncles and the Grandmother in Florida. Back at the house, we figured out who Speed belongs to. Unfortunately, she doesn't travel well and the Sis-in-Law isn't a dog person. The last night of his stay, we had dinner with some of the burlesque family and went out to see the PBB band at a local pub. Yes, that clock does say 3:30. Yes, that's in the morning.

Why I Haven't Blogged in Two Months. Wow I was sick. For a week, I failed to leave bed. Then, I went to work, but was otherwise out of order. I am still not all there with my breathing, but this is so much better than it was. Attended the Pink Party. Saw They Might Be Giants. In concert. TMBG were great. Fantastic. Awesome. And JoCo? Bought a new car. Caught way more flack from my coworkers than I ever thought possible. Got new cell phones. I have never seen people play the banjo like this. :). I should ...
