Trying to slow down

Trying to slow down. Adding value to the process through reflection. Friday, 21 March 2008. Feast of Unleavened bread. Last night we selebrated a Sedar meal, learning about the Jewish tradition and the way Jesus and his disciples would have sellebrated their Seder meal (the last supper) in the upper room. We ate Matzah (unleavened bread) and I read this beautiful poem about it:. It’s only ordinary. On an earthen plate. From a supermarket shelf. Oh, but when I take it. And cradle it lovingly. It is for me.

Trying to slow down: Proper English...

http://www.christinaholt.blogspot.com/2007/08/proper-english.html

Trying to slow down. Adding value to the process through reflection. Thursday, 09 August 2007. One of my favourate songs is a song called “What He means” by Just Jinjer. It is such a powerful song – making you think about the wars we’ve had in the past, that we have now. Not only wars like the holocaust, apartheid, but it also makes me think of wars we have in our daily lifes: wars of pride and prejudice…. Towards black south africans the prejudice is even worse, it is only assumed that you do not know w...

Trying to slow down: a Relaxing weekend...

http://www.christinaholt.blogspot.com/2007/08/relaxing-weekend.html

Trying to slow down. Adding value to the process through reflection. Saturday, 18 August 2007. Gerald and I left Friday morning with two friends for a lovely weekend in the Drakensberg. Mountains at a lodge I thought lay just after Howick. The trip started off with laughter, snacks , naps, joking, lunch half way… very enjoyable. Just after Howick. I started studying the map book – the lodge seemed to be much further than I thought, about 100 km further! We have not managed to get a rental car, nothing!

Trying to slow down: coming close to God

http://www.christinaholt.blogspot.com/2007/07/coming-close-to-god.html

Trying to slow down. Adding value to the process through reflection. Monday, 02 July 2007. Coming close to God. Today was a very frustrating day at the office – our e-mail has been off since Friday and our internet since this morning. I just realised again today how many times per day, or should I say per hour, I check my mail! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Living the live in Johannesburg poses challenges. like life any where in the world does! The power of one.

Trying to slow down. Adding value to the process through reflection. Monday, 11 February 2008. I abandon myself into your hands;. Do with me what you will. Whatever you may do, I thank you;. I am ready for all, I accept all. Let only your will be done in me,. And in all your creatures. I wish no more than this,. Into your hands I commend my soul;. I offer it to you with all the love. Of my heart,. For I love you, Lord,. And so need to give myself,. To surrender myself into your hands,. The power of one.

http://pottingalong.blogspot.com/2007/09/meeting-of-cultures.html

Saturday, September 08, 2007. And my heart swelled, and my emotions rose, and I realised that this is the reason why I am not interested the least in leaving my homeland, my African Sky, my heimat, its because I am a daughter of this land, with my heart sold out to the journey we are on. O Suzi, vandat jy my vertel het van "sons and daughters of the South Africa" kom dit dikwels op by my in situasies en gesprekke waarin ek my bevind. hoe waar is hierdie term nie teen oor 'n "citizen" nie!

pottingalong: Girlfriends

http://pottingalong.blogspot.com/2007/04/girlfriends.html

Monday, April 23, 2007. Yesterday, after our Sunday morning service – the celebration of a new baby dedicated to God, I retreated to my cave. With the firm decision to stay here until I felt better, I retreated, and closed the door to the world. They reminded me of how our lives are enhanced, how our colors are brighter in relationships, and how much I love them. They reminded me that we are community for one another, and that we have the chance to show Jesus to one another. View my complete profile.

pottingalong: The freshness of holiday

http://pottingalong.blogspot.com/2007/08/new-directions.html

Thursday, August 09, 2007. The freshness of holiday. What a glorious day this is. The sky reflects the brilliant color of the blue blue ocean. The only breeze we can feel today is the warm bergwind, that brought with it nice warm weather - in the middle of winter, tomorrow it will rain, the locals say. I have a beautiful view of the bay, every now and again, I lift my head just to remember that I am at the coast - and not in my study. I found the prospect of registering daunting, but have to raise my hat...

pottingalong: Picking up the pieces

http://pottingalong.blogspot.com/2007/04/picking-up-pieces.html

Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Picking up the pieces. I heard God say that I am His beloved, and this gives me courage. This gives me the platform to live on. God blessed me with companions and a community to journey with and within. Picking up the pieces proved difficult. I cannot share my every thought much as I would want to. I lost a few pieces – since I was too lazy to write of it down. So now the pot resembles the Clay pots we stick together at Kleipot Community. April 18, 2007 at 9:33 PM. Picking up t...

pottingalong: December 2010

http://pottingalong.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 13, 2010. In the last week I have been called to make a few very significant decisions about my life, which in itself lead me to ask a few very significant answers of God, which led me down a really dark path , as the questions were overwhelming, and the answers scarce. I have however found a few clever men, who captured in words what has been mauling in my heart for the last week:. With this prayer in my heart I ventured on:. Rueben P. Job. How will I know God will provide for me? These...

Tuesday, August 31, 2004. Bubbles in a bottle. Sparkling water can get you into a lot of trouble, like when you try and open the bottle just as a quiet moment settles on a group of people, before the sermon starts. Laughter erupted, and the holy moment probably broken. Such good intentions of which the road to heaven is paved. Links to this post. Saturday, August 07, 2004. On which on side of being lies doing. Living life and blogging about it. In every shape and form. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Hi, I’m Christina :). July 13, 2013. Standing on the edge of a crumbling cliff,. Sharp piercing winds making my hair whip,. Like snakes striking,. Forceful gales pushing my body towards the tiny ledge,. Cold tears sliding down icy cheeks,. Falling into the abyss beneath,. Pushing back with strength deep within my bones,. So not to fall,. Fighting until my bodies numb,. If I stopped pushing,.
