Geeky Mama: February 2015

Thursday, February 19, 2015. Brené Brown on Blame. Wednesday, February 04, 2015. Stars in My Yoga. I love yoga. More specifically "BodyFlow" which is a combination of Tai Chi, Pilates and Yoga. The vast majority of the class is yoga - and I take some regular yoga (yoga only) classes as well. (Hatha Yoga). Unfortunately, the vast majority of our thoughts are negative. Self-critical, judgmental or worries about things that may never happen. I might be failing at the visualization - but my version leaves me...

He was born in 1763 and most of his Haiku (then called haikai) in 1823 were about Peonies. (85 of them! My rough translation of his haiku from 1823:. After this world (of).

Geeky Mama: August 2009
http://geeky-mama.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Friday, August 28, 2009. A long time ago, I wondered what to read after the Harry Potter series. I read the His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman, read some Neil Gaiman and life went on.but there was that momentary flash of panic after book 7. So - thanks to the Book Fairy Wendy, and some resourceful hunting of our own.we found some books for our Tween that helped get her past that "panic" after she finished Twilight. 1 The Mortal Instruments Series (trilogy). The first book is: City of Bones.

The story of one woman, her five men and a dog. Tuesday, October 15, 2013. It seems, of late, that the children have a well orchestrated schedule worked out. They fake not knowing the time, the date or the flow of a day because the clearly. Know how to tag-team pushing me to my limits these days with swiss-watch-like precision. It's been a bit of a rough week. Wednesday, October 9, 2013. One of the lawsuits involved a woman suing Victoria's Secret (explain what that is) for injury to her eye when the tho...

The story of one woman, her five men and a dog. Sunday, August 11, 2013. It has been 8 years since I have been the mother to only one child. But as of this morning, I am again only caring for one for the entire week. Max has been gone already a week to Y camp, and Cal and Spence just got on the bus for their first one week camp experience this morning. It feels super weird. And I'll miss by boys a little bit. Friday, August 9, 2013. The Beauty of Sadness. Why would they do that? And probed for further de...

SurlyCrew: January 2014
http://surlycrew.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
The story of one woman, her five men and a dog. Wednesday, January 22, 2014. I have frequently been surprised at how hard it is to place people when you run into them in an unfamiliar setting. When I am rummaging through my mental Roladex, I am also trying to place a person in the right physical space: are you college, med school, residency, North Memorial, Meadowbrook, Breck, Surly, or the dreaded no-man's-land of "other"? Last night, it became clear to me that place itself. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The story of one woman, her five men and a dog. Thursday, January 10, 2013. For the New Year, we were fortunate enough to have Matt and Megan include us, yet again, on a wonderful adventure to Northstar ski mountain. Their family has an amazing home in the area and the ski conditions were great. We had absolutely no fun whatsoever. Last day on the mountain. Massive hot tub for all. Dinner with my honey. This one pretty much sums it up. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Perseverance…with a capital P.

A Space Toddyssey: Just You Wait
http://a-space-toddyssey.blogspot.com/2010/10/just-you-wait.html
A little triathlon. A little family life. A little uncertainty. Stir well. Enjoy. Thursday, October 14, 2010. I have been remiss in posting, but there is a good reason. Unfortunately, I can't reveal that reason right now. I will know more at this time next week and then I will have much to say. This has been keeping me busy and I'll be doing some travel in the next few weeks that. Excited to see you soon! And yes to dinner! You let us know when works best for you! October 14, 2010 at 5:08 PM. Perseveranc...
