Ok, Jean has only been here via sitting in the airport on our way to New Zealand and the last time I visited was for Bryan’s wedding over a decade ago, but arrive we have! Highlights for our 1,500 mile (not in a straight line) drive down were BIG trees and BIG rocks! Yes, I think when it’s all said and done, we would have seen nearly every record tree on the planet, not to mention some impressive rocks too!

Traditionally, the coastal area running about 40 miles from Playa del Carmen to Tulum is probably most famous for the aquatic activities dependent on the coastal water and the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System (also known as the Belize Barrier Reef) which begins near Cancun and continues along the whole length of the Riviera Maya continuing southward to Guatemala.
