In 1971 beginnen Math en Ria Courage-Smeets een slagerij aan de Maasheuvel in het Limburgse dorpje Roosteren. Een aantal jaren later verhuizen zij naar een groter pand gelegen aan de Maasheuvel 1. In dit pand wordt de slagerij gecombineerd met een kleine supermarkt.
