Courtney in Java: September 2009

http://www.courtneyinjava.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 20, 2009. Instead seeing a group of 'bulehs' or Westerners in the park actually freaked us out. Yes, we are all Americans (though quite diverse looking; I definitely stand out the most) but seeing ourselves in another group of people was a bit shocking. Being a head taller than everyone around me, in elevators, at markets, has become day-to-day life. Sunday, September 6, 2009. Anyway, tomorrow is the start of language classes. I'll keep you posted! Friday, September 4, 2009. Some of the...

Courtney in Java: Feeling at home (finally)

http://www.courtneyinjava.blogspot.com/2009/10/feeling-at-home-finally.html

Thursday, October 22, 2009. Feeling at home (finally). The second night we drove to a beach south of Yogya and spent the night in a lean-to built up about fifteen feet off of the beach. We woke up the next day to the sites of a deserted beach like nothing I’ve ever seen. When I originally. Graders have completely different curriculum than the 11. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Courtney in Java: Courtney in Malang

http://www.courtneyinjava.blogspot.com/2009/10/courtney-in-malang.html

Tuesday, October 6, 2009. Day 5 at SMA 10 Malang, the senior public high school where I will (eventually) be teaching. Anyway, besides school and those poor cats, I am exploring Malang as best as I can. So far I’ve been to a lot of the old colonial landmarks including Toko Oen, this Dutch-style café with wicker chairs and waiters that look like they’re circa 1930 who serve you European pastries and every kind of juice you can imagine in a big open room. Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories

Courtney in Finland - Suomi Summer Stories. Sunday, August 29, 2010. I'm sitting in the Helsinki-Vantaa airport, waiting to board the first of three planes that will take me home. I'm still surprised that my summer in Suomi passed by so quickly. Though it was cold and rainy when I arrived in Helsinki in early June (and is now cold and rainy again), I was eager and excited to begin this Finnish adventure. I had no idea that, during these three months, I'd face a record breaking heat wave. Though I'm sad a...

ABCE's of the Ingram Household

Wednesday, March 25, 2015. It's been forever, right? I want to get back to blogging, there is something about a virtual journal that is amazing and therapeutic. I figured I would start blogging about our 2015 Park Challenge! Then of course some more personal feeling goodness I come up with and need to get out. Lately we have been living on the go. From Evan working 6 am to way after the sun goes down oh yeah, he got promoted! And they fight. Non stop! Since we have been so close together in our 'baby hou...

Peace Corps - Honduras!

Peace Corps - Honduras! Instead of sending out mass emails that are packed with all the details and descriptions of my time in the Peace Corps, I thought a blog would be a better way to organize my thoughts and experiences. Also, keeping an online journal means that everyone can look at it when they want instead of having full e-mail inboxes of letters. Enjoy! The contents of this website are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. Government or the Peace Corps. Pineapple ready to eat.
