I got back from 10 days in the states Sunday and while I've been gone Belgium has burst into blossom. After the wet, dark winter we endured, this a welcome site. Since Jewish law forbids cremation and an estimated 100,000 people have been buried in multiple layers here since the early 15th century, the tombstones are crowded together in tight jumbles.
