Growing Young: Nontoxic Tub Scrub
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/2012/02/nontoxic-tub-scrub.html
Tuesday, February 7, 2012. This recipe I found on MarthStewart.com. Here's a nontoxic but effective way to clean your tub: Add one teaspoon of liquid soap and several drops of an antibacterial essential oil (such as tea tree, eucalyptus, rosemary, or peppermint) to one cup of baking soda. Add just enough water to form a paste, and use it with a sponge or brush to scour bathtub surfaces. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Craft'n Texas Style's Facebook Wall. 365 Days Of Trash. Growing Young: Homemade
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/p/homemade-cleaning-supplies.html
I have found that living more organic is costly. Especially if you are buying it all. There is a reason Americans are hard pressed to give up processed and preservative filled foods, they are CHEAP! UPDATE: I love this deodorant! It works great. I am trying to figure out how to get it in an old solid deodorant dispenser so I can use it as a stick deodorant. I have run across a few of these recipes online and I decided to take a few pointers from each and come up with my own recipe. 1/3 cup baking soda.

Growing Young: In the Kitchen
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/p/in-kitchen.html
One of my husbands favorite meals is Baked and Stuffed Jalapenos. I got this recipe from a friend when we were still in the military. Bacon ( nitrite and nitrate free). Chicken ( hormone and antibiotic free). Cheddar Cheese ( I use grated). Brown Sugar ( optional). First I slice the peppers in half and seed them. The heat of a jalapeno is in the white meat, so the more meat, the more heat. I then stuff the peppers with sliced chicken breast and cheese. You can lightly salt your chicken if you desire.

Growing Young: The Garden
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/p/garden.html
I just found 8 free tires on Craigslist and this is what I am going to do with them,. I can't wait to see how these turn out. I am also thinking about making a couple of them like this. I always plant an herb garden in the Spring because I love the smell of the herbs when I go outside, but this year I decided to plant one in my kitchen bay window. I was searching around the Internet ( cause that's what I do) when I found this really cool idea for recycling 2 liter plastic bottles for planting. Div align=...

Growing Young: Homemade Bath Salts
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/2012/02/homemade-bath-salts.html
Saturday, February 11, 2012. Well at least good ones. HA! I also love to pamper myself as much as possible and when I ran across this recipe on Pinterest, I had to try it! It was ALSO extremely inexpensive to make because I already had the essential oils, the salts, and the coloring. I just need containers and I headed to Dollar Tree and found these little gems, for ( you guessed it) a dollar a piece. And they are GLASS AND HAVE A SCREW ON TOP! For the original recipe click HERE. 3/4 cup Epsom salts.

Growing Young: Green Onions Anyone??
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/2012/02/green-onions-anyone.html
Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Do you have green onions in your fridge? Don't throw away the white ends. Simply submerge them in a glass of water and place them in a sunny window. They will grow. And they will grow fast! Over and over again! I use kitchen scissors to cut what I need for whatever I am fixing. And periodically empty out the water, rinse the roots off and give them fresh water. Growing Young: DIY Margarine/Smart Balance
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/2012/02/diy-margarinesmart-balance.html
Friday, February 10, 2012. OK, it's not really margarine. Everyone knows margarine is one chemical compound away from being plastic, and it's just NOT good for you. But this homemade spread works the same as margarine as far as being very spreadable. It's more of a smart balance really. Here's what you do. Remember: If you use organic products, you get organic margarine! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Craft'n Texas Style's Facebook Wall. 365 Days Of Trash. Life as a Mother.of Many.

Growing Young: Monkey Bread, Yum Yum
http://trhr1972.blogspot.com/2012/02/moment-of-clarity.html
Friday, February 3, 2012. Monkey Bread, Yum Yum. I have fond memories of eating monkey bread when I was kid, so I thought I would give my kids those sweet memories too. They are 5 and 7 and hearty little eaters, so I knew when I thought of making this, it would be a hit. Anyway, back to the recipe. I changed the method a bit, but the ingredients are the same. 3 cans of biscuits ( 10 each per can). 1 cup of sugar. 1 cup brown sugar. 1 stick of butter. I took a pair of scissors ( I use them instead of kniv...
