Creativity in Therapy: Joint Family Drawings: Verbal and Non-Verbal
http://www.creativityintherapy.blogspot.com/2013/08/joint-family-drawings-verbal-and-non.html
Joint Family Drawings: Verbal and Non-Verbal. Although I tend to use art therapy more with individual clients, I have lately had more opportunities to use art in family therapy, leading me to think more about family-focused interventions. One of the art therapy interventions that I learned as a graduate student at Loyola Marymount University was verbal and nonverbal joint family drawings. In Family Art Psychotherapy. Example non-verbal joint family drawing. Example verbal joint family drawing.

Try the activities feature to explore the process of artists like Matisse. Create original art based on inspiration from modern art pieces. To see amazing and inspiring examples of the artwork that can be created with the app.
Creativity in Therapy: Drawing Your Dragons
http://www.creativityintherapy.blogspot.com/2013/01/drawing-your-dragons.html
I recently had the coincidence to attend two trainings here in Austin that involved participants creating dragons or monsters. One of these was a presentation to the Hill Country Play Therapy Association by Mary Morrison Bennett. She shared with us a book called You've Got Dragons. Or "In what situations were you able to fight OCD? Are there other ways that you have creatively helped clients to externalize and fight problems? Have you found this to be a helpful approach for yourself or your clients?
Creativity in Therapy: Sensory Tools for the Therapy Room
http://www.creativityintherapy.blogspot.com/2014/01/sensory-tools-for-therapy-room.html
Sensory Tools for the Therapy Room. Note: Many young children (ages 3-5) who are brought to therapy to see me have sensory processing issues that contribute to irritability, anxiety, and meltdowns. Play therapy and parenting support can help in many ways, but are often not sufficient to address these sensory processing needs, so it is important to also refer the child to an occupational therapist to fully address the problems. Start-up Non-Profit for Local Healthcare Communities. Rule #1- Find a place you trust…. June 3, 2013. A wonderful professor in college gave us a handout at the beginning of the term that I still, and probably always will keep close- it is a copy of the list of “rules” by John Cage. I believed she wished us to hold these in our minds as we created our art? RULE ONE: Find a place you trust, and then try trusting it for awhile. RULE THREE: General duties of a teacher pull everything out of your students.
