Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter: January 2015
http://chucklariveyvirginiaimpressionist.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter. This is about the most fascinating career choice I ever made, that of an Oil Painter. Friday, January 2, 2015. 2015 - A fresh start Canvas 938. What a great day painting! December 20th was my official 1st day back, grey and nasty outside, it could have gone the other way, but it didn't! Perhaps a good sign for the new year to come. Canvas 938 is a high contrast painting, using my favorite colour yellow, and my favorite subject KOI! 938 High Yellow 56x48 oil on linen (12-22-14).

Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter. This is about the most fascinating career choice I ever made, that of an Oil Painter. Friday, May 8, 2015. Back in the art cave. I picked up "Singular Focus" Sunday from the Stravitz. They did a wonderful job presenting my new collection and I'm forever grateful to Dick Stravitz and his staff. I'm especially fascinated with the 3D technology entering the field of fine art canvas reproduction. My real plan is to approach this on two fronts. licensing my images for global di...

Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter: April 2015

Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter. This is about the most fascinating career choice I ever made, that of an Oil Painter. Sunday, April 26, 2015. Some time off and a clean slate. 1 It starts with one painting at a time - in collections - until the energy is gone. Benefit: technical and atheistic improvement and a cohesive body of work called a "collection". 4 The solo exhibit would be an ideal way to release any new collection of work. Timing could be an issue - exhibits are set well in advance.hopefully...5 Nat...

Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter. This is about the most fascinating career choice I ever made, that of an Oil Painter. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. Yesterday was a good painting day, I even unclogged a bathroom drain, my first ever! Guy's this thing works! Not much room for pond inhabitants. I learned a little trick - the bottom part of the painting is too dark (overhead skylights). 56x48 oil on linen wrap (5-16-15). 9:23am time to paint! 7:52am time to paint! 963 Summer Mists 56x48 oil on linen wrap (5-18-15).

Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter: October 2014
http://chucklariveyvirginiaimpressionist.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Chuck Larivey, Oil Painter. This is about the most fascinating career choice I ever made, that of an Oil Painter. Wednesday, October 29, 2014. The last one was a fun painting but far afield from my main focus. I want to work more with layering transparent colour - diminishing the original image as I go. The idea of inner glow with simplicity the end object. CANVAS 934 - 48x44. I started out with simple blended composition - my brushwork was a constant smooth horizontal movement - then blended vertically.

Click on image to see slide show on U-tube - was not able to load it on blogger.
