If a nation expects to be ignorant and free. it expects what never was, and never will be." - Thomas Jefferson. Thursday, April 02, 2015. 150 years ago today: The beginning of the end. It was on this day 150 years ago, April 2, 1865, that Union forces made their way through the Confederate battle lines, thereby ending the Siege of Petersburg, Virginia that had been going on since June of 1864. Buckhorn Road: Generation PC
http://buckhornroad.blogspot.com/2014/10/generation-pc.html
If a nation expects to be ignorant and free. it expects what never was, and never will be." - Thomas Jefferson. Monday, October 27, 2014. Any-hoo, at the beginning of the school year, I conduct a few standard generic lessons that address certain questions and issues that come up during every school year, so several years ago, I just began addressing those questions and issues proactively. The final installment of my Fallacies lesson is a reminder to them that there are certain people from history for whi...

If a nation expects to be ignorant and free. it expects what never was, and never will be." - Thomas Jefferson. Monday, September 09, 2013. Flying Pigs Edition: The California State Legislature passes a bill with which I wholeheartedly agree! Ever heard of the National Defense Authorization Act, or NDAA? Posted July 18, 2014, by Mary Grabar: Today, one year after his untimely death, we honor Larry Grathwohl, brave and patriotic American, who fought communists in the jungles of Vietnam and then in the vermin-infested cells of the Weather Underground here in the U.S.A. Please take the time to go to the site Bringing Down America. As part of this effort, my article, " Larry Grathwohl. Remembering an American Hero," appears today in Townhall. Read it here. Right on the Left Coast: Views From a Conservative Teacher: Liberal Utopia

Right on the Left Coast: Views From a Conservative Teacher. Education, politics, and anything else that catches my attention. Wednesday, August 05, 2015. Liberal almost to the point of being fascist? San Francisco sounds like liberal utopia, but who actually lives there? Well, Business Insider tells us who can't. Afford to live there. Housing in San Francisco is expensive. So expensive, in fact, the city's schools can't hire enough teachers because the cost of living is so onerous. Just 13.4 percent ...

Right on the Left Coast: Views From a Conservative Teacher. Education, politics, and anything else that catches my attention. Monday, August 03, 2015. It's Hard To Believe, But. I go back to work a week from today. School starts for the kids three days later, on Thursday. It's too darned early to be starting school, especially in California in a classroom without effective air conditioning. We also start next Thursday. Why a Thursday? We dont have to worry about that much here in the Sacramento Valley!

Right on the Left Coast: Views From a Conservative Teacher. Education, politics, and anything else that catches my attention. Sunday, August 09, 2015. I Didn't Sleep Well Last Night. Or Much At All. I doubt my one mojito is the culprit. More than likely it's the knowledge that I go back to work tomorrow- and I still have bronchitis from my Europe trip. Ugh. Does anyone else have that subconscious dread of going back to school? My dread of the school year is fully conscious. View my complete profile.
