Skip to primary content. Drinking the wild air. November 30, 2014. As hard as it is to believe (at least for this midwesterner), this burst of autumnal color just took place; oddly timed but beautiful nonetheless. Despite my best efforts, I doubt I’ll ever get used to the timing of “seasons” here in northern California. Case in point, just across the street from where I captured these images, roses and hydrangeas were still in bloom. This entry was posted in California. December 3, 2014 at 12:43 pm.

Where do I start, where do I begin?: July 2010

Where do I start, where do I begin? What I’ve got in my head you can’t buy, steal or borrow.but you can read it online. Musings on music, fashion, art, film, theatre and life. Friday, July 30, 2010. I bought a new black dress the other day. A long sleeved warm black dress in the middle of summer. Not to wear now, obviously, but did I really need to buy another little black dress? Time to take stock of them, I thought. 5 Black puff-sleeved dress with cute buttons and pockets on the front. Bought for a...

Saturday, April 24, 2010. Should I pretend I am writing this from an overcrowded airport, where we have been camped out for days, suffering boredom only interupted by assaulting airline staff, rioting with other passengers and crying for the television cameras? The Happiness Workout pt 2. Last week at work was an absolute stinker. Rotten to the core. Its not very interesting so I'm not going to go into it now - but I can't promise I won't have a rant in the future. So now seems like a good time to do the Happiness Workout. A Very Small Farm. Simple solutions for challenging times. Sorry for lack of posts this week! I've been hard at work with several commissions, as well as finishing up this piece. These are my dogs, Cassie and Finn. They are dashing through the snow in typical Border Collie fashion! I have been working hard trying to improve my backgrounds and lighting. I think I am coming along. I am so used to just drawing or painting the subject with no (or very minimal) background. It is always good to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone! A fluffy Shiba Inu! If yo...
