Sunday, July 10, 2011. Who's looking at your ArtFire shop? One of the most important things for an online business is finding out from where your business is coming! There are various free programs for blogs and websites that you can use to monitor activity. I use Blog Patrol. Here, which gives me a blog counter as well as stats on where my traffic originates. Funny how searches on some of these things have brought people to my blog, eh? Keywords are your friend. Being able to see if I have incoming link...

Designs by Victoria: A Year in the Making, day 296
http://dbvictoria.blogspot.com/2010/06/year-in-making-day-296.html
Sunday, June 27, 2010. A Year in the Making, day 296. It's been a busy weekend - I had two social events on Friday, a promo photoshoot for Steamcon and a movie viewing party on Saturday, and today was Pride Parade! For one of Friday's gatherings I made what I call my Lemon Dream Cake:. It's always a favorite. I still had buckram left over from my previous project, and used scraps from the dress-making for the fabric. I started off using a hat I reworked for my daughter for the basic shape:. Here's where ...

Designs by Victoria: A fairy tale
http://dbvictoria.blogspot.com/2014/09/a-fairy-tale.html
Friday, September 19, 2014. There once was a great and magical forest, and all the animals and mankind lived together in peace beneath its boughs for centuries. Then, one dark day, a dragon came and made her home in the center of the forest, and the peace was shattered as she laid claim to everything green for as far as she could fly in a day. Many a champion tried to drive the dragon from the forest, and met their doom beneath her claws and teeth, so finally a great wizard came to the woods. Quality Bea...

http://dbvictoria.blogspot.com/2011/02/history-of-zipper.html
Sunday, February 6, 2011. The History of the Zipper. Worried about zippers in your Steampunk wardrobe? Never fear. They've been around in some form or another since the end of the 19th century. That it wasn’t ever fully developed. Whitcomb Judson patented the “clasp locker,” a shoe fastener on August 29th, 1893. The name “zipperR...

Designs by Victoria: A different kind of post drawing on my professional background
http://dbvictoria.blogspot.com/2009/01/different-kind-of-post-drawing-on-my.html
Thursday, January 1, 2009. A different kind of post drawing on my professional background. Here are two actual complaints I had to deal with this year:. People know that many companies will offer refunds, or even better, free products or coupons, when complaints are filed, to keep the customer’s future business. They also know that a claim for damages for a small amount will also most likely be paid because it’s less expensive than court costs. At times like these, with the economy in recession and so ma...

Thursday, November 5, 2009. TANSTAAFL and Tooth Whitening. So you find this blog or website that says for just a few dollars in shipping you can get these two different tooth whitening product samples from two different companies, and if you use them together you get these fantastic results, and you just cancel after receiving your trial shipment. Sounds easy, right? Well, first of all, where's the data that says these two products are safe to use in combination with each other? Nope, neither do I. This ...

Designs by Victoria: Cooking safely
http://dbvictoria.blogspot.com/2011/12/cooking-safely.html
Saturday, December 3, 2011. When you're cooking meats, if you don't cook them thoroughly enough you run the risk of making yourself and anyone else you're feeding sick. Recommended temperatures for different meats are 145°F for whole meats, 160°F for ground meats and 165°F for all poultry. There are a bunch of different thermometers you can use, but I prefer the old fashioned kind. Happy and safe cooking! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Visit missvictoriasvintage's ArtFire Shop.
