Home Sweet Home(school): Monday Morning Quarterback (thoughts to ponder)
http://homesweethomeschool2.blogspot.com/2014/11/monday-morning-quarterback-thoughts-to.html
Practical tips for home educators. Monday, November 10, 2014. Monday Morning Quarterback (thoughts to ponder). You know what they say about hindsight. (It's 20/20.). Looking back, the signs are so clear. Now They're clear now. When we were in the middle of it, we didn't see it. Or rather, we put another interpretation on it, the interpretation that we had been taught, the interpretation that fitted the community we'd been living in for two decades, the Christian homeschool community. It's a beautiful Mon...

Home Sweet Home(school): November 2014

Practical tips for home educators. Monday, November 24, 2014. Conversations during coffee "hour". At the old church, there was a young man who consistently sought me out, or at least it seemed that way. He made a point of greeting me cheerfully, asking me how things were going, and engaging in conversation for several minutes. Want to hear something sadly funny? I often wondered why. I mean, he was nice. What did we do to earn this (social) death sentence? How did they win their way in? When we were in t...

Chocolate Vegetables: November 2010
http://chocvegetables.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Having impossible thoughts is not unusual here! Saturday, November 13, 2010. And here we come to one of the really damaging myths of education, namely, that learning is the result of teaching; that the progress of the child bears a direct relation to methods of instruction and internal relationships of curriculum. Nothing could be farther from the truth. From "THE LIVES OF CHILDREN. The Story of the First Street School. Monday, November 8, 2010. My opinion of what needs to be covered:. Orthographic proje...

Chocolate Vegetables: December 2009
http://chocvegetables.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Having impossible thoughts is not unusual here! Thursday, December 31, 2009. Well, in actual fact, it isn't the dentist I hate, more the pain I tend to be in before I get the guts to make the appointment that will ease the pain. Can you guess that I am becoming a lot more diligent about cleaning my teeth and flossing between them? Now I just need to bite the bullet so to speak and call the dentist on Monday to make an appointment to ease this pain. Are you "rooting" for me? Monday, December 21, 2009.

Chocolate Vegetables: Technical Drawing

Having impossible thoughts is not unusual here! Monday, November 8, 2010. This is a particular passion of mine. All my boys will be doing at least level one outlined below. I think these skills are just so necessary to be able to communicate to someone what you want or need from an item in three dimensions. My opinion of what needs to be covered:. First level (and almost essential IMO). Understanding of scales, tolerances and fits. Basic perspective drawing with only straight lines. Any of the above that...

Joyful Hearts and Faces: May 2015
http://joyfulheartsandfaces6.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 29, 2015. My Week In Images. We had tears, joy, and lots of fun. It was crazier than ever and then I came home with a nasty head cold. So I'll write a fair post next week, for now here are some photos from my week:. They remind me that summer is coming. Because they got us through another fair. These green spaces that I see all over my town. Because we love taking walks and using them. Which I was glad to be in the front of on Monday, when we picked up our two remaining animals from the fair.

Home Sweet Home(school): Back after long absence
http://homesweethomeschool2.blogspot.com/2014/11/back-after-long-absence.html
Practical tips for home educators. Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Back after long absence. We've gone through some changes over the past months. Some? Maybe more than "some". Changed states. Changed houses. Changed churches. Transitioning slowly out of homeschooling. Transitioning out of editing for a homeschool magazine, and gone (for a while, actually) from writing reviews for another homeschool magazine. Changed dogs. (Not by choice.). I suppose this is as good a place as any. Back after long absence.
